I played KH1 and 2 when they released, but never got that far with the side stories.
Kingdom Hearts II was pretty much as I remembered it. I had forgotten chunks of it, but it held up pretty well.
Dream Drop Distance seemed like an important game to get through before III came out. The biggest feature, switching between Sora and Riku, was largely an annoyance since it was forced. I mostly managed to avoid untimely switches, but it was still another meter that needed to be managed. Collecting and using the Dream Eaters seemed largely pointless. They never seemed to contribute much. Other than that it played fine, except for flowmotion wall climbing.
After playing through 5 remakes/remasters of older games, -A Fragmentary Passage- was a breath of fresh air. Though short it was nice to play something created this generation. Another game just setting the stage for KHIII, I had fun with it, but it was hardly essential.
Sigh... I started it years ago. I didn't have to finish it. Yet I did. There was a time when Paper Mario was good. Those days ended when Nintendo decided Mario only needed one RPG series and that would be Mario & Luigi. So... why does Paper Mario persist in turn-based combat? To devote all that time to combat, but have you gain nothing out of it.
What really turned me away from Sticker Star were the "Things"; real world objects hidden away in a stage that you would have to turn into stickers and perhaps use somewhere else to proceed. Such objects were often well hidden and upon reaching a roadblock in a later stage have no idea where to look for said object. Fun.
I finished the base game last year, so this entry pertains to the DLCs "Legacy of the First Blade" and "The Fate of Atlantis"
Legacy of the First Blade
Just a continuation of the base game. No new areas. The story was fine. I liked the ending bit, but in the end it was just 15 more hours of slinking around killing people.

I tried Monster Hunter back in the Vita days, but it never really grabbed me. Too slow, too deliberate. My friends at Gamestop sold me on World, and though I never managed to play with them, I enjoyed my 120 hours with this game. Up until Nergigante I rarely partnered up, joining a random session only if I knew the prey wouldn't be a tough fight. Once I reached the Elder Dragons, I joined a party just to survive the fight.
I never played enough of the Vita games to settle into the pattern of fight, fight, craft, steadily increasing your stats and abilities until you were ready to tackle the next tier of monsters.

After finishing World, I was curious about older Monster Hunters and this copy was pretty cheap. I doubt I'll ever beat it, but the opening hours have been fun.
I've been sitting on a save in the final world for years now. It was time to finish it. Despite being a fan of Nintendo franchises, Kirby has been a series I never really played.
Copying enemy skills is an interesting mechanic, though I found it hard to keep control of skills as one hit is enough to knock the ability out of Kirby. The boss fights seemed pretty difficult compared to the difficulty of individual levels.

Since I didn't really play the series after II, I can't say the wait for III was that excruciating. It was always in my head that Square Enix was working on it, but even as it drew nearer I could've waited longer.
Was the wait worth it? Probably not.
