I did look forward to Prototype for months on end, when the review's came out I cant help but feel extremelly disapointed (not to say reviews are always right but y'know). 

I don't think it was meant to be revolutionary. It's a good game though. I haven't played Ultimate Destruction but from what I've heard it was pretty fun.

Absolutely not a revolutionary game (neither was it meant to be I suppose) but it is fun if you can adjust to the difficulty curve.

It is very apparent when playing the game that it was made by the HUD team, but this game is so much better than that game. My only real complaint is that it does get a little repetative at times, but so do most open sandbox games. Also the difficulty isn't very consistent at times. Other than that it is a solid game that can be a lot of fun.

the way they had all those cool interviews and stuff made me feel like it was going to revolutionize how environments change over time. I was under the impression that the whole city would be changing, but instead you have a few areas with red stuff and smoke. it was a fun game but I would have liked it more if I had played it without reading reviews or watching trailers and getting my hopes up. It WAS fun tho. although a manual aim option would put it higher on my fav list.

It was dumb and that's why it's fun.

You can rip dudes in half, then devour their remainswhilst their screams linger on.
 
Having said that, I wouldn't buy it. Replay value suxxors.

It may not have been an original idea but it sure as hell built on that concept and did a good job in making a great experience.
