Can you explain the ways in which being able to block someone from communicating with you for eternity has not been effective? I assume most people understand (I could be wrong) that if a troll isn't fed, he/she will eventually fuck off entirely. But hey, maybe I am overestimating the intelligence of a lot of people.

Blocking communications is effective in stopping that person from being an asshole to YOU. It does nothing to tell that person that they need to stop being an asshole.

I understand your theory behind "if you ignore them, they'll go away", but in my experiences, it's not realistic. I will play games without my headset on, meaning I can't possibly be ignoring them more, yet I still hear people being assholes towards me in some random games of something like Call of Duty or Halo. Some people are just assholes, because they know they can be.

Silence isn't enough. They need to be taught that their behaviour isn't acceptable, since their parents obviously never taught them that lesson. The only way to do that is with consequences, and if we're not going to return to the days of games having a host that can show the asshole the door when they decide to start being a shit head (which would be my preference), than there needs to be more action taken by the enforcement team, because just letting these idiots spew their hate isn't an acceptable solution.

That's rough, there should be a single warning then permaban but I appreciate they are trying to cut down on that kind of bullshit on XBL.

There is a warning. It's the Terms of Use that pop up when you sign up. People shouldn't need a warning not to behave like assholes.

Ugh I don't know if the media or the publishers are guilty for marketing this as Burnout Paradise 2 because it is not.

I'd put that completely on the media. They were the ones claiming Burnout: Paradise 2.

I like both. I'd be perfectly happy with them trading off releases. I wouldn't want the Horizon style in normal Forza games, but I also wouldn't want Horizon to go away.

I understand they are a business, and I understand they can remove you for whatever reason or none at all. The point I've been trying to make is that they have relied more on the personal responsibility of regulating your own experience with tools like mute and block, and these things have proven to be effective.

But they haven't proven to be effective. Look at a site like my friends over at http://fatuglyorslutty.com/.

Are you seriously going to look at those messages, and tell me that the current tools are effective? Are you insane?

The only way the behaviour is going to stop is if these assholes have to face some consequences for what they're doing. Being muted or blocked by someone isn't a consequence. It doesn't have any negative effect on their gameplay. It just causes them to go find another target.

Is the character editor any good in this game? It has the tattoo and shirt...That looks pretty impressive.

I haven't played around with the editor myself, but I've seen some of the wrestlers people have made up on the in game file share, and they are pretty amazing. Some of them, I don't think the designers could've done much better.

I'd definitely be interested in that. Planetside has always sounded pretty cool, and I've always wanted to try it.

I much prefer this mechanic, but then again, I'm all for anything that isn't button mashing. Fuck button mashing.

I must say, to the topic creator, your XBL avatar is fantastic.

Also, we should consider setting up a specific GB Community multiplayer night or something, so a bunch of us can play together.

Customizing your loadout for each event is key.

That right there is the biggest reason I don't like this game as much as their previous efforts. The biggest thing I've always loved about Criterion's games is their simplicity. It's about getting in a fast car, and seeing who can be the fastest person around the track. That's it. It wasn't about having to go through a menu to pick parts for your car, it was simply about having fun driving.

I HATE the mod system. I thought for years that such a thing would ruin a Criterion game, and it has. I hope they drop it from whatever they do next. It's great in some games, but not Criterion's games.
