Out of all of the movies I've seen over my lifetime, I can't remember one that was great but had a shit ending. Usually the movies I see that have those types of shit endings are usually garbage movies. Like Batman V. Superman.
I was already sold on the concept of this being, essentially, a heist movie set in the Star Wars universe. Now I'm even more excited for this. Seeing everyone dressed up in costumes that look straight out of the original movie, AT-AT's doing their thing, and the OG Death Star put a big stupid smile on my face.
I really liked it. It felt like an extended episode of The Twilight Zone. I felt the ending was appropriate for this story and was okay that the Cloverfield monster wasn't in it. It was a great stand-alone film that really makes me excited for the Cloverfield franchise to essentially become a cool anthology series.
I really liked it. I saw it in the 70mm roadshow format about a week ago and it was a cool experience. The first half (before the intermission,) also reminded me of the Tarantino of old while the second half did have more of a Inglorious Basterds / Django Unchained vibe in terms of its level of violence. Pulp Fiction is my personal favorite Tarantino movie so I preferred the first half a bit more then the second half.
