@animateria

Yeah, I played hundreds of runs over the last few days, and suddenly, apparently from pure luck, knocked out all four cars in just over 1:30 (after being unable to improve on 3:25 for the first DAY).

 Handling:  I also feel it was a mistake to start people off with only the cop race and the Crown Vic.  The 350z seemed ineffectual, and the Ford seemed ridiculously heavy and unresponsive.  After the Racers Reborn event was unlocked, driving different cars and earning boost by drifting through oncoming traffic, it felt a LOT more like Burnout: Paradise.  The heavy, zig-zaggy oversteer is different on both consoles: the tight center on the 360 controller made it easier to make slight nudges (almost like tap-steering with the d-pad), but I got pretty comparable times on both systems pretty quickly.  Not GOOD times, but comparable ^_^;;

The achievements are very achievable!!  This game is my first S-Rank.  It took quite a while, but it was easier (I think) to go through Season Mode (offline) and take 1st in every race.  Then I focused on pulling the specific power-play achievements (they're all hidden, so I won't spoil them, but they require you to wreck a certain number of opponents with specific power plays).  With all that practice, I still had a hard time getting my online form up to 1, but it was a blast.  The 360 S/S community seems to consist of only two groups of people:  those who don't talk at all, and those who are not huge jerks.  Weird, huh? Last of all, I worked on the "Beat The Team" achievements. Most of the other achievements you'll pull off while working on these specific groups.

I'm sure you'll find your own way through, that's just what I did. Some specific achievements required tons of repetition, but I finally got it, and the game is still good enough to keep playing after all that!  That's saying something huge right there!!

As well you should. I finally S-Ranked it, and I'm still addicted. 8-player rooms tend to be full of people who enjoy the game and are less likely to refer to others using slurs of the ethnic/gender variety than other games.  Little weird online sometimes, no rooms, no people, but that's not too common, and the other 99% of the time when it is working great, it is FANTASTIC!

After hours and hours, I can still FEEL the adrenaline dump when I start driving in this game!!

I have thought about it several times, and I always take advantage of the holidays that come up near major releases (when I'm interested in the game), but I've never actually scheduled time off or even called in sick.  I've joked about it a lot, but never done it.  I guess I'm a failure as a slacker, too!

Nice job getting those with the Cobretti 530! When I finally got them, I had to use the Ryback Firestorm.  Believe it or not, I just found out about that alternate route through Construction Site on LABOR DAY. The Air Strike/Revenge events are tough, I would just recommend keeping your speed as high as possible and driving a car you're comfortable drifting with. A lot of those events is just the luck of the air strikes coming at a time when there is plenty of room to maneuver.  As far as the Detonator events, well... I think it's the same trick as Power Plant:  lots of practice.

Don't give up on the online achievements! If you get a good room, it's fun as heck to play even if you're barely creeping up the ranks. Heck, I was playing in a room full of Form 1 players and got dropped all the way from Form 23 to Form 99, but I learned so much from watching them that it was totally worth it. 2 days later, I ranked myself back up to 10 in about 2-3 hours.  Good luck!!

 I still have to get the 2 time trials. I got totally OCD playing through and got 1st in everything all the way through, but those "Beat the Team" achievements are brutal. I still haven't gotten my online form all the way up yet, either, and it sounds like you already took care of that one. Nice!

I finally got my copy in early February and have a lvl 21 HuMarl and a lvl 19 RaCaseal.  About 35 hours, total. Multiplayer has been almost all local wireless with my daughter, but is pretty darn good.  She's played all the way through a couple of times.  Matchmaking online is so slow I thought there was nobody playing until I got in a game with 1 dude after about 12 minutes, but there's a rating system and (s)he was pretty cool.

No way to drop items for another player without going to the Item Trade Station in town?!?  But at least everybody gets their own drops when a chest is opened.

I've been playing this while travelling, before falling asleep, while everybody else is watching some crappy TV show... this is way better than just "for fans of the series", it's portable, pause-able (in single player) PSO!!  I may just play this game forever.

My daughter finally got hers from Gamestop on THURSDAY the 12th.  In the words of the prophet Norm MacDonald, "Ridiculous!"
