I haven't listened to hardly anything new this year, been to busy digging through early 90's west coast rap and Joe Jackson. Of new stuff I have managed to listen to Killer Mike - R.A.P. Music is the only album I have stuck with. Food and Liquor II fell a little flat for me, and good kid, mA.A.d city isn't out for four more days .
Overall definitely not a scary game, but the Regenerator in the jail section combined with that writhing blob in the dumpster freaked a 14 year old me out.
I really like the soundtrack, but that is of course completely subjective. The addition of the celebrity team is not great though, and if he had anything to do with the menus, then he should stick to music.
We Need to Talk About Kevin - Pretty dark and uncompromising film. It was really well shot and Tilda Swinton turns in what maybe my favorite performance of hers. Good child acting too, which is rare these days. 4/5.
I am a big fan of both genres, but I honestly would be hard pressed to name any metal I like from 2000 on. On the other hand, a lot of my go to rap playlists are made up of a lot of stuff from as recently as this summer.
I don't think I've ever cried during a video game, but the ending to the original Kingdom Hearts really struck an emotional chord with me. I was probably 9 or 10 when I beat it and I can't even really remember the reason why it got to me so much, looking back on the dialogue in that game kinda makes me feel silly in retrospect.
A more recent example would be the endings of Phoenix Wright 1 and 3. I picked up the first 3 games cheap about 2 years ago and ended up marathoning all 3 in pretty much a week. I ended up getting pretty attached to the characters, which makes sense considering they are more or less interactive novels.
