The Roots come to mind first for me. Not only are they very prolific, but they continue to put out great music. Depending on the day, Undun may be my favorite album of theirs.

Kanye isn't a bad answer either, MBDTF is incredible and Watch the Throne is good for what it is.

Since my go to bands have already been mentioned (KoL and Metallica) I'll say Boston. It's not really that they went downhill so much that there was no way they could ever live up to their debut album. There was nowhere to go but down.

It was already pre-ordered, but after listening to the leak I canceled the pre-order and ordered the deluxe version, It had that kind of impact.
