I don't go to a gym, but do exercise. I walk 4 miles home from work each day, followed by sit ups and a 10 minute run in the evening. At first I just walked because I literally had no other way of getting home, but I did start to feel a difference and enjoy it now so I've kept it up. Takes about an hour or so but with my mp3 player it seems like no time at all. That routine did me good for a long time; combined with going out of my way to eat healthily I lost a lot of weight. Over the last year though I've gotten pretty lazy with it so I'm working on losing that bit of weight I regained.
I don't do weights or anything because I'm not looking to gain... though I could do with building up some muscle. I don't want to go over the top though, and I'd want to do it properly so I'd need to plan what to do.
So with the new 360 design already getting a (pretty cool) Halo: Reach limited edition make over, what other games do you think would make for a good skin design? (Whether they were all the way back to launch titles or ones not even out yet.)
I personally like the LE consoles that come out every now and then. I think Gears Of War 3 could have an awesome design and also make good use of the custom sound effects that the Reach one is going to be using. Metal Gear Solid: Rising might also work well, but it's a bit early to tell.
As for games already out, I think the Condemned and Bioshock series might have had good ones.
Reading "football (soccer)"... I couldn't help but be reminded of this song:
Talent-wise, for me, graphics design and 3D work is my talent I suppose, as it's what I do for work and feel I'm pretty good at it. I was pretty good at creative writing and enjoyed it but it was nothing I persued.
I always found it funny when you'd approach someone who doesn't like you and they'll angrily say, "Oh... it's you" but then when you actually click to talk to them they're fine with you or asking for favours.
I also had an experience (nothing sexual) with the Adoring Fan... I'd caught vampirism and, while working out how to get rid of it, needed to bite sleeping people's necks in order to keep the blood going. One time I didn't realise the Fan was following me while I broke into someone's house and sucked their blood. He went crazy and said he'd go and tell the guards, so I bolted outside after him and took him down with one swing of the axe. It was about 2am, game time, and pouring with rain when I found myself dragging his corpse into a river to try and cover my tracks. I left him bobbing up and down in the water and sort of forgot all about it.
A few weeks later I was passing through that area of the game again, sometime at night, and just saw a distant glow from a torch. I walked towards it and as I got closer, there was the adoring fan. Resurrected and happy to see me. I told him to stop following me after that.
@Tebbit: Absolutely! I'm not too fond of the following word being used, but when it's really meaningful I don't mind saying it: Devin Townsend is an actual musical genius. From Strapping Young Lad (full on thrash metal) to Devin Townsend Project (mellow and poppy in places), he just leaks music. He writes, performs and produces everything to do with it too. So underrated.
I really recommend checking out his Ziltoid The Omniscient album. It's very experimental but it's just epic the whole way. Funny in places, too.
One of my favourite tracks from the album, a more mellow one:
I love this one too, and it's more typical to what you'd find on there:
I'll stop now or I'll end up posting the whole thing... In short, ZTO is rad.
As well as anything by Metallica, Iron Maiden, Zeppelin, Clapton and other classic bands who've had countless quality solos, some others I'd like to give a shout-out to:
Pantera - "Cemetary Gates" (3:33)
Suicidal Tendencies - "You Can't Bring Me Down" (0:01)
Mastodon - "Oblivion" (3:25) - So many to choose from for Mastodon. But I went with probably their most solo-ist solo.
Tool - "Jambi" (4:00)
Devin Townsend - "Deep Peace" (2:54 - really kicks off around 3:35)
Anything by Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad, Devin Townsend Project, Ziltoid The Omniscient and so on) is amazing, by the way.
If Carmine lives he'll probably end up being the savior of the game... I say kill him off like his brothers. Even though he does look pretty badass. Sorry, Mrs. Carmine.
Hopefully they won't announce if he lives or dies before the game comes out. Would rather it was a suprise.
