To Dan trying persona, i mean i get it, that it COULD be a "new dan/stardew valley" moment of he tries it and is into it, as the nature of Morgana aside, 5 in particular sort of grounds the magic and the thievery in more psychological warfare sort of deal.
, but generally speaking, never saw this being a game he'd be into. Yakuza was always that series to me because of all the reasons Alex talked about in the podcast and we did get Beast in the east.
@zeik: oh for sure, this game especially when you get into a relationship and max out a confidant rank doesn't really hide what happens next (at least for the Makoto storyline), and i dunno, in the context of maxing out a confidant rank with someone your in a relationship with in the game, thats fine? (naoto was the only link that really drove home what happened in 4 if i remember)
Morgana's thing is just a infatuated crush, Teddie later on in the game really did was like a few notches away from Mr Libido from Yakuza 0
@alex when you increase the rank with the specific arcana ur trying to fuse, your able to inherit up to 4 traits during fusion
Also, when u discover the temperance, star, sun, and fortune arcanas, you should probably spend time with those confidants as the rewards for those help you get the most out of a day and also deepen the gameplay some more. (Leveling up the temperance arcana let's u spend time during the evening instead of sleeping after a dungeon run for instance, also let's you craft items during class)
And don't worry, the morgana stuff with Ann doesn't really go beyond compliments that she ignores. (Currently rewatching the Endurance run and Teddie was downright pervy at times in 4)
The guys went from hating switching back to Kiryu last week to saying this was the best chapter in the game so far, love it (this is pretty much where the story kicks into gear for Kiryu and Majima)
Also can't wait to see their reaction when they boot up the next chapter... (the game does a great job of leaving you with a nice cliffhanger before switching characters)
I get the feeling a lot of Dans irritation with the combat came out more cause he's sick, so while I disagree with the combat criticism, I'm still grateful we even got a episode this week, thanks Dan!
Also SUPER excited to see the crew's reaction to the end of this piece of Kiryus story before the next switch off as there's a couple cool dude moments and good story beats coming up for Kiryu , Majima is a fantastic character, and his story is great (even though he sort of changes after this game), but at the core, this series is still about Kiryu
glad next week the focus is back to the story, at one episode a week, distancing themselves from the story and playing so little of it feels like it will burn out the crew's interest on it before it even
truly takes off (majima and kiryu have so many cool dude moments in 0)
