Agree with this piece so much, especially using fighting games as a comparison, and as a way to develop the habit of learning and persistence.
Had a similar experience with a game doing this for me recently, currently in college right now, and math has always been my weakness, i could never understand the logic behind it very well, and i was also making my way through the witness, oddly enough the way the witness forces you to apply its concepts, look at things from a different perspective, take things step by step, has dramatically made college algebra click in a way for me that i didnt thought would be possible.
First thing comes to mind, i really hope Destiny 2 can use this
That is my thought on the matter. It would require an actual Destiny account tied to your Gamertag/PS ID so your character can progress over, and people actually using the party chat they so desperately wanted.
Forgive me if im wrong or misunderstand, but isnt that how it works already? that our characters are more stationed on Bungie's side rather than directly tied to the Gamertag or PS ID?
Given their whole grand ambitions with that series, id be shocked if they didn't pursue using this capability for the sequel
For those that would rather not hear a lot of details on The Witness before they play it its about the 35 minute mark where they stop talking about it. They don't say anything to spoil puzzles but they started to talk about things I'd rather discover myself so I skipped ahead.
What is everyone's read on Shawn Laydan? He seemed shaky on stage at 2014 e3, but at PAX and PS Expo this past year he was more laid back looking.
I can't say it is shocking that more PlayStation America people are getting higher positions within the video games divisions of Sony. I'm not enough of a business man to say if that is good or bad though...it just seems more logical to my layman's brain. Of course Shuhei Yoshida is great and I have a lot of respect for how Kazuo Hirai is handling the CEO position. They should keep Shuhei as an onstage spokesman for sure, he has worked hard to tap into the audience directly and through people like Greg Miller and Geoff Keighley.
He was at PAX? holy shit.
Shawn Laden always seemed very genuine, and seems like he understands the audience very well.
