"Um ok do you people actually take everything he says seriously? Do you guys not get the point of what he does?  I find that amusing. "

It's not a matter of not getting what he does, it's the fact that HE doesn't even seem to get the point of what he does. If he's just there to satirize games and make fun of them through images and such, then why does he sway back and forth incessantly between purposefully blowing things out of the water for comedic effect and legitimately critiquing the game he's talking about. I don't know, it's hard to explain, but with, for instance, James Rolfe (AVGN) he has an established character with a clearer (at least in my opinion) persona of "my suckiness at this game leads to my anger leads to me nitpicking at the littlest of details." Yahtzee seems completely random and unfounded though in what he's trying to be, and if that's the direction that he's trying to head in with his reviews, that's fine. But I just think that a big reason why a lot of people aren't fans is simply because he can't make up his mind about whether he's doing humor for the sake of humor, or if he's trying to openly critique the sensitive areas of certain games, or a combination of both or what.

It's still cool though that the MW2 Gods are still able to tackle the missions solo though, if they so choose. I mean, it is frustrating that the missions seem designed for 2 players and then were just "opened up" for one player--part of me wishes they would have just made a number of missions specifically catered to one person and the rest catered specifically for two--but at least there's the option.

The sniping missions though are relatively easy when going single player, even on Veteran. I think it just depends on the mission and doing it enough times that you know where you need to be and when.

Me neither. He should just watch movie. "
I think he should stick to write book. "

Perhaps he should just listen to music.
Damn, combo breaker.

It is nice to see his reviews having a bit more truth to them lately--there was a long stretch where it was obvious that his opinions were blown way up to try and create humor and amusement out of it, only for it to backfire and sound like mindless complaining. Now he's at least believable.

The '86-'88 choices were somewhat predictable, but I was intrigued by your other two choices: specifically Marble Madness. But your thoughts on the game are entirely correct--the fact that the game broke its own rules and limitations as it went on was certainly a change in what we'd seen in the gaming industry, and while the game doesn't really have the cultural impact to be credited with massively influencing modern games in that regard, I think we can look at it and say that it was one of the first to do so.

Good read, I'll be tuning in to your other choices. Although there's a fragment in your Marble Madness section: " By physically an object in digital space "

First off, I understand that this would take up probably the most bandwith imaginable. But think about how awesome it would be.

The MAJOR thing that games are lacking in their pages is their music. Imagine if we the users could upload the songs and tracks from the game, and other users could listen to them. They wouldn't have to be up for download or anything, but I feel like GiantBomb could really attack our senses if they went after the aural AS WELL AS the visual and factual, which they have already covered well.

One can hope, yes?

How so? Because I would certainly argue that the changes of each time period represent what was important to those times in every degree. Obviously things may seem superficial to us now--but even the change to American Impressionalism could be considered superficial. That doesn't mean it wasn't a huge renaissance in our culture.

The world seems much faster now than in the 90s, and the "technological tentativeness" seems to have evaporated completely. There has been a MAJOR shift into more extreme liberalism in most sections of the nation, it would seem, and there has been a much higher adaptation of the "let's point fingers and blame someone" approach, both in politics and in society.

Ikaruga, definitely. Though I've gotten somewhat competent lately.

And of course fighting games that aren't Super Smash Bros. I love playing them though, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, BlazBlue, Tekken games, Virtua Fighter games--I'm just terrible at them. I'm somewhat okay though in Soul Calibur, which is still pretty pathetic since I've been playing that series since the original.

Also, football games, like the Madden games. I don't buy them, but I enjoy playing them if some of my friends want to play--but I have NO idea what I'm doing for playcalling and stuff. But that's okay, I'll own them in NHL, heh heh.

I always base my sort of "Game of the Year nominees" on what I feel have been the biggest games for each system, multiplatform, PC, handhelds, and a couple wildcards.

360 exclusive, Halo 3: ODST, wonderful campaign accompanied by a beautiful melodic score.
PS3 exclusive, Uncharted 2, I actually wasn't a big fan of the first game, but the sequel really took things to an experience usually only seen on a cinematic level.
Wii exclusive, Metroid Prime Trilogy, one of the greatest game collections ever, though it's a shame that the Wii GotY nominee right now belongs to something that is ultimately not new.
PC exclusive, The Sims 3, because it's one of the few PC exclusives I played this year, ha.
DS exclusive, Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, a PHENOMENAL RPG experience that is insanely humorous and wonderful.
PSP exclusive, Half Minute Hero, some of the best ways 30 seconds have been spent in an RPG, or any game, ever.
DLC game, Shadow Complex, who cares if it was a Super Metroid and Castlevania ripoff, it was awesome.
Multi-Platform choices:
 - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, haven't played it, but guessing it's phenomenal.
 - Borderlands: One of the best multiplayer experiences of the year, I can't wait to get my hands on a 360 copy.
 - DJ Hero: Totally came out of left field and blew me away with how great the gameplay is.

Right now, I'd really be leaning toward either Uncharted 2 or Borderlands, in all honesty. DJ Hero is close.

Groundhog is a little easier, yes, but it's so much more fun to play in my opinion. Beats and Pieces always results in just frustration and fatigue, and me getting upset that I can't tell if I have to hit an up scratch or what. Groundhog at least mixes everything in much better than BP does, and it sounds a lot better too. At least for me.

Yeah, it didn't take nearly as long to get up to Hard and such on here as it did in Guitar Hero. Perhaps it is because of the long history of playing Guitar Hero already providing the necessary color coordination training, or perhaps it's because there really isn't an addition of anything totally mind-boggling on the harder difficulties, like the orange button was in GH. Directional scratching maybe, but even that is somewhat easy to get used to. Although Expert is just insanely hectic.

Great vids though, that guy is a master of rewinds.
