Good luck with your endeavors! I loved the RE series during its heyday, but mostly stuck with the RE2/RE3.

For some reason, I always did Leon A/Claire B, and, like a jerk, I'd take the SMG in Leon's game. Poor Claire.

In RE3, I decided to play through with no weapons (besides mandatory fights), and no saves. The quick turn, dodge, and push mechanics made it possible to navigate through crowded areas. It made the Hunter encounters fairly intense.

My Cheese Strategy: (Poison Knives)

1. Chase him into the first room where he starts attacking.

2. Damage him to 50%, which triggers him to run to the next location. At one point he will drop down to the lower level and typically you fall down and he continues running. DO NOT DROP DOWN.

3. Hit him with two poison knives. This will poison him and he'll have a spastic gas attack while the poison whittles his health. Once the poison wears off, just hit him again. (I think it's 1% health damage per tick, so you need around 12-14 knives).

I noticed during his "Homing Missiles" phase, that if you stay close enough to him to trigger his AoE attacks, he very rarely does the homing attack. Knowing that, I would just circle-strafe the spiderlings at that AoE threshold and take them out fairly easily. Blades of Mercy works well since a dodge/attack combo has you immediately dash to their weak spot for a 1-2 hit kill. Once the spiders are gone, the fight is much more manageable as his AoE attacks are easier to avoid.

When he was abusing the Old Hunter Bone, my initial impression was, "Of course he can do that forever". When he first hit me with a visceral attack, I'm thinking, "Shit". Then when he healed, I'm thinking, "Fuck this guy'. On the third attempt, I realized he was using the Chikage katana (drains hp when in 2h mode). So I just circle-strafed him during those times and coaxed him to attack by throwing stuff at him and immediately countering. It was a damn tricky fight.

If I have to think to Parry, then I've missed my opportunity.

"This 'Souls' game is easy" is akin to "This horror game is not scary". It's not necessarily a wrong statement, but the definition of 'difficult' or 'scary' is so subjective that it depends entirely on the person playing it.

I'm no awesome gamer, so I've been finding the game challenging. However, the latter portions of the game have felt easier. Why? Probably because:

A) I leveled up a shit load

B) I became more proficient at the game's systems

And this is perfectly fine for me. I still love that the game throws surprises at me and I can still die at any time. I'm just a bit more prepared for it now.

I started with the Axe since that charge attack staggers just about everything. My cheese tactic is to lure a baddie over, and while he was just out of range, start my charge attack. By the time he comes in, he gets a face full of axe and is sent flying. Rinse, repeat, profit.

However, I'm at a point in the game where there are multiple, fast moving enemies at once so the Axe doesn't work too well. I've been messing around with a Blade of Mercy/Ludwig combo (both +6), and it's pretty awesome, though I miss that Axe sweeping charge attack.

As a few others have already mentioned, the Vita memory cards are disgustingly overpriced (3x the price of similar capacity SD cards). So if you want to download vita games (non-indies), or final fantasy games, you're going to need at least 16gb, but preferably 32gb. However, you're better off just importing a 64gb card, which you can usually get for around $85, as that has the best cost per gb ratio. The other sizes you will always feel like you're deleting things to make room.

In the end, figure about a $350 initial investment if you want to do things right, which I honestly think is fairly expensive if you can't find at least 12 games you definitely want to play soon. I've had my Vita for almost 2 years and don't regret it, but I also have a large catalog of psone/psp titles, I'm a fan of the Japanese games that are released for it (rhythm games/visual novels), and I also prefer playing Indies on it instead of PC. If you had/have a PS+ sub and have been actively adding Vita titles to your collection, you're that much better off. If not, I would save up money, but just keep an eye out on prices for now.

Btw, Tearaway is an excellent game, but also very short (6 hours if you just want to beat it), so if money is tight, I would opt for something like Persona 4 Golden if you like JRPGs. That will last you at least 60 hours, and give you time to save up for other titles. Lastly, the PSN store runs some nice deals and flash sales, so I would strongly advise to NEVER pay full price for a game. It will always be on sales or a PS+ title at some point.

The closest I can relate to that is seeing my neighbor's car go up in a fireball across the street. Also, when my train stopped at a station, there was a parked car that had a fire on the hood. Within 30 seconds, the entire car was engulfed, and, the terrible person that I am, I just thought, 'I hope the train isn't delayed because of this fire. I don't want to be late for tacos.'
