I've never played Chaotix but I saw it recently and it's a pretty inventive game. It's a shame it gets lost in the shuffle. The sonic series in general doesn't really adhere to a formula as much as I once thought, each game is kind of it's own little microcosm. That's kind of what I find so intriguing about it. It's less reliable than Mario but I kind of find it more interesting.

Now that's intriguing, I didn't expect people to be a bit luke warm on 3.

@corruptedevil: If you only watch the trailers maybe. The buttrock is there but the levels themselves just have really good music, even shadow the Edgehog.

Although I'd be lying if I said I didn't like the buttrock on some level. The stupid Knuckles raps go right form ironic to genuine love for me.

I thought about adding a "Never liked" option but I figured those people wouldn't be interested in the blogs so their info wouldn't be super useful. DEMOGRAPHICS SON.

The treasure hunting segments are exclusive to the Adventure games, if that helps. In the original Adventure your 'radar' would work for any of the crystals and the environments were a bit smaller so you could fly around and get a good idea of where any of the treasure was. In 2, they arbitrarily decided that it would only tell you one. That and a few other decisions make your opinion fairly common in the fandom.

I was kind of amazed at how well the soundtracks were evne in awful entries like Shadow The Hedgehog and Heroes.

@veektarius: It's definitely bizarre. I mentioned in this...update? Episode? In this chunk of wasted time that anime acts as a bridge from childhood to more mature storytelling. I think Sonic does the same but at a younger age so it's effects are amplified. Compared to it's contemporaries Sonic actually has kind of a complex story to it, especially the 3d ones with all the clones and interlocking stories, so if you've just had your interest piqued for the first time and want to explore the story potential of a world, Sonic's a pretty good place to start.

I know that because I did it.

@supermike6: I think that'll be a necessity. This one's a magnitude above the actual flash, and the whole reason I decided to do this was because I figured I could knock it out in half an hour. I really enjoyed doing it and I'm happy you and @audiobusting: enjoyed it enough to comment!

I just...I just want meat boy on vita. I know there's a lot already but I want meat boy! And Transistor. And everything.

@9cupsoftea: I want exactly what giant bomb gives me: large uncut, unedited clips of gameplay with entertaining folks who know what they're doing and can talk critically about them. That's it. I don't need reviews because they're usually pointless, I don't need a score because they're superficial and misleading, All I need is a release schedule, some routine coverage, and a good time. Then I can decide for myself if something is worth buying.
