I don't see any need to go back to the main game, but you may have to take a little bit of time to get used to the combat again when you fire up the DLC.

I only played a few hours of the Enhanced edition before deciding to just jump into 3. Witcher 2 is worth trying out, but not at all necessary to enjoy Witcher 3 (which is my game of the year).
