Considering the shape that video game journalism is now it's the best thing he could have done. Watching Adam over the years he seemed to have lost interest in the industry and just seemed to be bored of it, that's how he came across over time as a viewer. I very much doubt Paz's death is significant to the so-called "revenge" in The Phantom Pain to begin with. So the anger is weird on two levels.
