That was very interestingly written. The Dreamcast definitely is my favorite system of all time, but mainly because the titles on it vibe with me really well.

I totally feel you. I work 40 hours a week, and I attend a JC full time as well, so my time is insanely limited.

the Okami port was excellent, and there's also Cursed Mountain, Fragile Dreams, New Super Mario Bros., Mad World and No More Heroes 1 and 2.

There's also Cave Story on the Wiiware, which is totally worth the $12.

" Alan Wake is a great game, but I can't recommend it as a game to buy a whole console for. It isn't exactly long, and there isn't a lot of replay value unless you are a hardcore completionist. You did say you're interested in other games though. What might those be? "
I'm currently interested in Halo Wars, Fable 3 (so long as the Natal inclusion doesn't damage it), Tales of Vesperia (which I remember hearing may come to PS3), Splinter Cell: Conviction, Shadow Complex, and Deadly Premonition.

" Alan Wake isn't a survival horror game. It's an action horror game, like Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space. Very atmospheric and a lot of fun, but it's not scary in the least.

And getting a platform for one game is never worth it, unless it's a game you'll spend hundreds of hours on. Don't get a 360 for Alan Wake -- get one for Alan Wake, the Gears of War games, the Mass Effect games, Fable II, Shadow Complex, Tales of Vesperia and all the other exclusives. "

I'm totally alright with it being action horror -- I thought RE4 was excellent. You make a really good point about it never being worth it to buy a system for just one game, though.

Thank you for the help, everyone!  I feel a tad guilty about being out of the 360 loop lately.

I would say so. If you develop an interest in the creation aspects of the game, then there's endless fun to be had. Oh, and there's racing! The story mode is good enough, but the online racing is, at least to me, the draw of the game. If you like racing games, and like playing them online, then there's a pretty good chance you can get $60 worth of fun out of this game.

Oh hey. My name is OrigamiDriller (pointless parody of the Heavy Rain villain) and I love every system to at least some extent. I don't own a 360 (had to sell it to make rent), but I am looking to get a new one in the near future.

I write for a couple of sites as well, but I don't want to be lame and pimp myself like that. If for some odd reason you're curious which ones, just ask!

I consider myself a huge survival horror fan, and Alan Wake looks great, but I'm not entirely sure I want to purchase a 360 for it. To be fair I had a 360 in the past, but had to sell it due to financial obligations. I'm interested in a few other games as well, but Alan Wake is the main one that has piqued my interest. As a fan of the Silent Hill, Clock Tower, and Resident Evil series, is Alan Wake a potential system-seller for me?

Modnation Racers at the moment, but I switch back and forth between that and 3D Dot Game Heroes. In case anyone was wondering, Modnation is the better of the two games.

I read a review (really wish I could remember the source) that stated that it would be immensely difficult to finish this game without the help of a friend. Is that true? Is this game really that heavily-geared towards co-op?
