Anyone reach the Paradise Pizza story yet? Because I think there's an audio bug where two audio clips got layered on top of each other, just wondering if that's only me.

Besides that this has been a beautiful compilation with enlightening personal stories. Thank you for this and all you've done over the past decade. Let's keep this "mess" going on well into the future.

There are a number of really odd audio things going on, e.g. where clips seem to oddly layer on top of one another alternating, or entirely over the top at the same time.

The irony of talking about AC:Odyssey as being too long on a 3hr podcast that's normally closer to 2.

I do love Austin, but there's a reason I stopped listening to Waypoint. He's just too smart and I just cannot keep up with his analysis, I find it mentally exhausting to listen to as I have to concentrate so much. I wish he'd stop to pause or just slow down in one of his many exceedingly long takes on everything.

To offer a dissenting opinion on this - I had trepidation about this game after watching the trailer, I was not really a fan of the super-hard NES games this is drawing inspiration from, but I heard so many good things from the gaming community.

The game starts great, has a really good difficulty curve introducing mechanics for the first few hours and a charming sense of humour. Then it gets to the snowy mountain level and goes 'hey, are you enjoying yourself? well fuck you' and throws slippery surfaces and insta-death at you. Suddenly, you realise the checkpoint system doesn't recharge your health properly for seemingly no reason. There is a character that follows you after each death, takes away your currency used for upgrades and actively mocks you for dying.

I soldiered on, but the next level (the tower) is straight masocore without per-screen checkpointing and instant respawn. I really don't think the movement mechanics are designed for the difficulty.

Yes I can of course 'git gud', thanks but I can't be bothered to get to the twist. Games that have no respect for difficulty curves drain my energy VERY quickly. There's too much else out there to play. There are ways to make a game hard but not actively punishing, Celeste did this very well.

Anyway I'll go back to my walking simulators etc etc

Havent watched this series in a while and decided to check in. I have to say seeing a lot of grammar and spelling errors in the comments. Seems people are getting more and more drunk as this series goes on.

I'm note drunk your'e drunk!1
