Games I played in 2017
These are a few of my favourite things (and a few that made me sad).

Oh, Bioware! You messed up, you messed up so bad. For someone who loved the original trilogy for its ambitious sci-fi worldbuilding, the great cast of characters and overall aesthetic, this disappointed on all fronts. Just left me with a general feeling of sadness.
Yoko Taro and Platinum's magnum opus - a masterpiece. Also made me sad, but in a good way!
Best game ever? Quite possibly.
A lovely little old school throwback, with some razor sharp modern design elements.
My first Persona game. Now I get it. Even if I couldn't be bothered to sink the required 100+ hours into finishing it.
The game of the hour that will deservedly place at the top of many people's game of 2017. And for many years to come.
Thoroughly charming metroidvania that kicked my ass.
What a good game! A very good one even, with a surprisingly interesting story and a breathtaking world.
And the award for "Game that made me feel most like a dum-dum in 2017" goes to...
11 years on, still the best Final Fantasy game since VI.
How not to make a metroidvania, sadly. For the opposite, see Steamworld Dig 2.
Supergiant's best game yet. Long may they reign.
Nintendo turns the charm up to 11, yet again.
A charming classic that makes the most of the series' strong points while minimizing the tiresome bits, like the grind.
A fantastic 60 hour experience that's best enjoyed as such.
A lovely little metroidvania.
Welcome back Team Ninja, you were missed. What a killer combo, Ninja Gaiden's lightning fast action combined with From Software's punishing rpg masterpieces.
Solid little game, even if it pales in comparison to the numbered entries in the series. Here's hoping it's not the last game to bear the Dishonored name.
Best co-op cooking game.
