If the poker was an excuse to hang out and chat in a more casual format then yeah, that would totally be fun. If it was actually poker with a commentator like it was on TV? I'd maybe watch a one off.

Im kind of dissapointed that Iron Banner lost the "Gear Matters" theme. While I typically dont enjoy PvP based on RPG stats/RNG loot rolls etc. I loved that Iron Banner was its own thing, this little ruthless thing that popped up every now and then in which you could get stomped by people way higher but could also get the satisfaction of beating people who "should have beaten you". It was a mode that only gave its rewards to the winner, because it was ruthless and that made it more satisfying.

I dont want that old Iron Banner design as the entire PvP experience in Destiny but I want it as an optional part of it.

I ended up really, really enjoying the two currently released 'prequel' episodes. Its certainly not what TNG was in its prime in terms of slower paced and dialogue focused with minor action but I got what I wanted from Star Trek with some interesting characters conflicting based not on each other but based on their different reactions to the events outside of their ship.

I found the distinctly different Klingons kind of fascinating, calling them Klingons grounds them in that reality and helps make them feel even more 'alien' than they would be otherwise. I can see parts of the earlier Klingon design visually and culturally but its all 'off' in a way that I really want to discover. In some ways, I can could see these heavily religious Klingons and the Klingons of TOS intertwining over a century and become the Klingons from the TNG-era.

Im really hoping they can keep that balance, have that core of characters and drama with the more current 'action style'.

I cant tell you that its a good game, nor can you still play it as far as I know, but I have deep affection for the MMO "Megaten" or Shin Megami Tensei: IMAGINE. It was one of my first real experiences with the SMT style and I got to play it with a few friends one of whom was and is a massive SMT fan so while playing the game I also got the side commentary on what everything was and why. Amazing experience but again, I cant say it was a good game just one of my favourites.

If he had any experience with this site then he would know to send all support emails with a picture of your dog, then it gets moved to the top of the list.

@babychoochoo: What do you mean by "whales"?

In Free to Play games "Whales" are the players who spend all of the money. When you will grind for 10 hours to get a 'Silver Loot Box' with a tiny chance of a decent item they will just drop $500+ to get 100xPlatinum Boxes and all the best items in the first second of the new content releasing. Which then means the affect on design is more random chance to get gameplay relevant items so these "Whales" spend more money and the companies profit increase.

Just to add a little positivity I actually really enjoyed the movie. The originals still exist, and there is current/recent content, so I dont need the adaptions to keep all that much beyond a core idea. I enjoyed this version of the story, I preferred the way it handled the 'questions' (I found the anime to be overly ponderous over something I didnt find as interesting), I really enjoyed the visual style (its cliche, very Blade Runner but its good) and I thought the mixture of a typically western cast speaking english with a lot of asian/japanese people with subtitles actually lending itself to a sense of both near-future culture mixing and added to the aspect of the Major's (and the villain) history in terms of being stolen from herself. The image of the very white/western character approaching her very asian mother and having a sense of "that dosent look right", whether intentional or not, I thought played heavily into how much was stolen from the Major.

Certainly not a perfect movie but I I liked the characters, visuals, action & story well enough I came away pleased and would be interested in a second film.

I'd have to basically echo what everyone else is saying. As as single player game the 'campaign' is decent and maybe even fun if you finished the other options of similar games. Where this game becomes interesting is that:

  • It has full co-op (I think its 4 player parties, each can be played by a different person or you can control 2 each etc. but its been a while so I forget exactly)
  • You can create and download custom levels and campaigns (outside of the text its reusing existing assets but it can be a lot of content)
  • There is a mode where one player is a "Dungeon Master" and can control aspects of the campaign as you (in full co-op even) are playing.

If you have other options for single player games of this type I would suggest them but if you have friends who want to play with you then this is a cool option.
