I already said in this thread that I'm letting my Gold subscription end in November, but to be fair, you actually just said you pay $50 for free shit.

You do realize, that "shit" isn't free if you paid $50 for it.

@skinnyman: It's not so much the size of the hands as it is the two sticks being next to each other.
Did a quick search on amazon and they have two playstation controllers that reverse the position of the left stick and the d-pad.

But yeah, back on the subject of the thread... It's not that I don't earn enough money to pay for Gold, it's the principle of it. The way I use the service does not justify why I'm spending money for it. The fact that Microsoft is going to raise the price just gave me a kick in the pants to change my subscription level to silver.

@skinnyman: I'm with you on why you purchased multi-platform games previously on the 360. Especially with the controller part. I liked the interface, achievements and the controller more than the dualshock.

Now - XMB has less ads, Trophies, and I saw at best buy, you can buy a 3rd party Playstation controller in the shape of the 360 controller. I want to read some reviews to see if it's quality, but I may purchase that now that I plan on going Playstation primary.

After reading this I decided to turn off my automatic renewal of Gold.

I rarely play multiplayer games because of the well known community experience playing with the general public. I like to play with friends and I have a small friends list, and we all play games at different times.

Nowadays, the only thing I really get out of the my Gold subscription is the better interface for Netflix than my PS3, and the PS3 is apparently getting it's own disc-less application around the same time as the price increase for Gold.

I'm newly married and a new home owner, and my wife and are I trying to pinch every penny in this difficult economy. I'm trying my best to be smart with my game purchases, and I'm increasingly finding it more difficult to find time to play.

With lack of gaming friends, netflix soon in the PS3, watching my spending, and free multiplayer on PS3 I can no longer justify my Gold Subscription let alone a price increase.

My Gold will run out at the end of November, just enough time to enjoy the little bit of Halo: Reach multiplayer I was going to play anyway.

Let me just add... What a pain in the ass just to turn off the Auto Renewal.
I went onto the subscription page and clicked on the Auto Renewal, and I had to confirm the turn off through three additional web pages.

1. Click ON on auto renewal.
2. Are you sure? You'll lose access to Netflix, facebook, ESPN, Online multiplayer, etc....  Clicked Next
3. Are you sure? We have these games out or coming out that have multiplayer... Halo Reach, Red Dead, Crackdown 2, Lara Croft, Modern Warfare.... Clicked Next
4. Are you sure? Maybe we can get you to keep your service with a year subscription card, or 3 months, or 1 month?... Clicked Next.
5. Oh... well, we're sorry you decided to leave. Better get your money's worth of Gold before it runs out on you.

Really bad experience Microsoft... I used to get all my games on 360 except for Sony exclusives because I liked Live and achievements more. I'm reversing that now. Halo, Gears and Fable... everything else I'm buying for Playstation now.

For me it's any really gory movies based on real events. The #1 movie in that category is Saving Private Ryan. Excellent movie, but seeing the soldiers getting butchered on the D-Day invasion really messes with me. I usually can handle violence and gore in entertainment, but the fact that stuff like that really happened during World War II really disturbs me.

Altair married and had at least two sons with Maria, the former Templar that was a decoy for Robert De Sable. She was also the woman making loving to Altair during Desmond's Bleeding Effect dream.

If you read the codex pages, you'd know Altair wrote that he was going to talk with Maria about sending their boys after Khan because Altair thought he was too old to handle the situation himself.

Reading the text in the Auditore crypt, you learn that somehow Altair's Codex gets in the hands of Kublai Khan.  Kublai Khan gives the Codex to Marco Polo, and Polo gives the Codex to Ezio's Great Grandfather (the creator of the Villa) to deliver the codex to Spain where the templar's intercept it.

Now, Kublai Khan did invade Japan in 1274 and 1281, Marco Polo was in the Mongol Empire between 1275 and 1292.
So, point being, a Ubisoft could fit in a story in Japan, but it seems like it could be a bit of a stretch.

Unless Desmond skips through different time periods during AC3, I would think it would be strange to fit in a character that takes place between Altair and Ezio. The villa crypt explains the story of the founding Auditore, so unless they base a game on Ezio's great GREAT grandfather... what's the point of Japan?

I also find it odd that a lot of people calling for feudal Japan don't want a ninja game. They want a samurai game. That's doesn't make sense either. The gameplay of Assassin's Creed is more in line for a Ninja style game. How many times have we ever seen the Samurai archetype being agile, having sealth assassinations, and jumping from rooftop to rooftop? That's a ninja thing, not a Samurai.

I read on another site that Ubisoft always planned for the series to be a triology. The story will be resolved in the next game. An early post suggested a possible AC4. AC4 will probably only happen if Ubisoft wants to milk the series and the story in that game would just be shoe-horned into the Universe.

After the ending, it's pretty obvious that AC3 will play a much bigger role in 2012 with Desmond. The revelations of Minerva and Lucy pretty much stress the importance of Desmond saving the world. If Desmond is in the animus reliving the past, it would seem the historical settings will take a much more reduced role to let Desmond have his world saving adventure.

An interesting "What if" that I've been having since completing the game last night, what if the animus isn't even in Assassin's Creed 3? Desmond starts to have more Bleeding Effect dream like skips through time like Subject 16 had towards the end of his life. More Altair flashbacks while not in the animus. For the first two games, the series focused more on the past, and a few highlights of the future. What if AC3 is the reverse, and this time, no time period in the past if the focus?

Desmond saving the world in 2012 is the primary focus, but in between assassination missions, Desmond's bleeding effect dreams let him skip through time. Revisit Altair at his last peak at the Apple before his "death"... see Ezio with his wife and continue the Assassin Bloodline... witness Atlair's sons go after  KHAIN!!!... See a World War II flashback where you play the assassin that kills Hitler in his bunker... Lastly, play a role as Adam escaping Eden with Eve to witness what happened with "Those Who Came Before."

What exactly was the gameplay issues with the PS3 version of Assassin's Creed 1? I was under the impression is was pretty noticeable glitches. Not just really minor hard to notice frame rate issues. Was I mistaken the whole time?

I've been doing some google searches and I'm coming up empty. Any discussions on which version runs better? I played Assassin's Creed 1 on the 360 because I'm an achievement whore. One of my 7 games that I got 100%. Also, I read online that AC1 ended up having some performance issues on PS3.

So here is my thoughts, I definitely want AC2. Gameplay flaws aside, I loved AC1. Should I keep the series on 360 and get my achievements that I enjoy doing or move over to PS3? If the reviews are decent, I plan on getting Bloodlines, since my PSP hasn't been used for a long time. The connectivity, while minor, does seem like a cool addition.

What would be a bigger issue is the performance of the game. If AC2 has problems on the PS3 like the first game did, then it's an easy decision to stick with 360.

Long story short? Any one know anything yet? Other than the marketing blitz, the words on AC2 seem to be thin on a game that's released today.
