@Ahmad_Metallic:  Who?  I am getting the PC version.   I read the only the Conquest mode has 64 players, the rest will have fewer on the PC.
Oh, gotcha, thought you were the other guy with the hamburger avatar, the xbox guy.
Yes, only Conquest 64 on the PC will have 64 players. your point? we're discussing conquest here right?

Haha, you're right, it's gonna be such a sad sight!  cars, jeeps, APCs, boats, jets, helicopters and tanks, and only 12 people a team to occupy them while still having people run on foot or snipe.. Damn that sounds eerie and boring.

If it's any consolation, that map wasn't created on the PC first. It was created as a 24-player conquest map, with only 5 flags, all located in the center, and then some dead space was added around them to make the map able to absorb 40 more people for the PC..  The flashy graphics and fast action of the latest trailer was enough to rock people's socks off and dupe them.So hey, we get the big numbers, but you get the lead map design. I'd swap with you if I could!  Probably going to be the same for the rest of the maps (developed for consoles, with extra empty space for the 64 players on PC), so you're kinda winning here.
Source?
I have a perfectly good explanation based on days of conversing and analyzing, are you interested or do you only take sources?
You've read Demize's tweet on the reasoning behind the design of that map, so just give them the benefit of the doubt. They've refined spotting and threw in the commorose; have a little faith, especially when a lot of people who have played the map have stated that the flag placement felt fine.

They've already stated that their engine is placed all over server farms, so I can't imagine that it'd be easy for them to package it into a manageable tool. It comes down to "makes it easy for us" or "make it possible for everyone else to use too" and I guess they just went with the former. If anyone thinks they're entitled to mod tools, then go die. I know it's a shame that BF3 probably won't have them, but go die.

The rest of the tweet talks about more in-depth smithing and crafting, so it's not like they're throwing away repair and then being done with this aspect of the game. It's a refocus and calling this decision as "dumbing down" is, I think, a little silly.

Kane & Lynch had a really good one.
I liked Hive.
Same for Afterlife.
The ones in Bloodlines are alright, but I love that game, so I'll add this too.

There is no magical line. The room should have a bomb in it with many hostages screaming your ear off to disable the bomb. I got there by taking a vent in one of the corners of the room, leading me to the ceiling, which let me bypass the patrols and allowed to save them without much of a hassle.

This made me garner respect for Activision a TINY bit. He is right.
I agree with what he says, but I sure as hell don't believe that he means any of that.

He's representing a company that lays off developers right after projects and runs franchises to the ground by oversaturating the market with annual sequels. All he's really doing is taking advantage of EA's aggressiveness and spinning it in a way that suddenly makes Activision look like the good guys. It's totally working.

@Ahmad_Metallic: I know, that's exactly what has happened, and I find that really entertaining.

I don't really care if you either liked or didn't like what you saw, but to be so definitive on gameplay systems and then telling us that we've been tricked is, like, what. And then pretty much flipping over to the opposite end of the spectrum gives me a chuckle.

Or they can just turn this into a billboard.
