Word. Quite a few songs grew on me, but with just one listen of Prequel to the Sequel, I had to get more of btbam.

I also think Harmonix has some pretty great choices in metal songs. I was always hesitant to get too into the metal scene, since it is such a dense genre of music, but Harmonix helped me find Children of Bodom, Lamb of God (GH2) and Mastadon.

I guess more specifically, is it worth it for DS-10 Plus?
This would be my first experience with any kind of synthesizer, so I don't know if the improved functionality with the DSi would be immediately useful to me. But, in the long run, should I just pony up the extra forty for a DSi?

Recently I did something I thought I would never do in my life, and that was purchasing System of a Down songs. I felt dirty.
I'm not going to get into details, but SOAD is easily in my top 3 world's shittiest bands, but I made a bold choice and decided base on the charts (which are awesome on both tracks).

I just wanted to know, are there any other folks who've gone against their best judgment and bought a loathsome song just because it was fun to play? I'm afraid that patronizing these shitty bands would just encourage more terrible music being put out and preventing more deserving bands from being released. I'm also worried that this might be a slippery slope and I might actually look at the Jimmy Buffet songs.... I can't see that happening.

Queen absolutely should have been in both rock bands... as final tier epic vocal song.

I hope when you say "alien" you don't mean those spinning lizards. Those are by far the worst characters in the game, mainly because their death animation just involved them evaporating. If you are talking about the all robot team The Turbo Techies, then I agree with you completely, thats my team. Although the Terminator Trollz are probably the most fun to play as given their explosive farting audible and them having the best end zone dance.

QUEEN!!! and ELO!!!

I also don't understand the shortage of Muse in the game, given the overwhelming outcry for more.
I don't really expect too many indie bands at this point, but I think Harmonix could make a really positive impact for some of these smaller bands if they push their stuff. I think Kings of Leon would be awesome.

The cartoon was perverse and strangely graphic. On the other hand, the game is bar none the best football video game I've ever experienced, and one of the most fun games of all time. This isn't even nostalgia talking, the game holds up to this day.

There is so much radness in the set list I had to section it off:
Stuff that should be awesome to play: Pinball Wizard, Panic Attack, Master Exploder, Souls of Black, Almost Easy, Pain Killer, Let there be Rock, Ace of Spades.
Awesome stuff that really surprised me: Cool for Cats, Feel the Pain, Tangled up in Blue, Psycho Killer, Lazy Eye.
Pure ecstasy (these songs should be staples in every music/rhythm game): Carry on My Wayward Son, Spirit in the Sky, Ramblin Man, Rock'n Me, EVERLONG!!

I know I listed almost 1/4 of the songs, but that is just how pleased I am with what Harmonix chose... not that there isn't some terrible crap in there also.
