@Suedehead: I don't know what games you were playing this year, but there have been many absolutely great games this year. I'll leave a list of games here you should probably play: Bastion, Portal 2, Dark Souls, The Witcher 2, Terraria, Deus Ex Human Revolution, The Binding of Isaac, Dead Space 2, LA Noire. And those are just the ones that I've personally played. I know many others would say: Batman Arkham City, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Uncharted 3, Zelda Skyword Sword, among many others. As far as being on topic, Skyrim is totally deserving of GOTY.

Terraria is $2.50 on Steam right now. TWO FUCKING FIFTY. Great deal for a huge amount of content. Before any patch, I already had 40 or so hours into the game.

This is a question for those who have their conjuration to 100. I've been messing around with the different permanant atronachs and have noticed something interesting. Usually when you create a Dead Thrall, Fire Thrall, or Frost Thrall, (and have the +50% atronach power perk called Elemental Potency) you get a magical effect in your list that says "Conjure Potent [Type] Thrall" or in the case of Dead Thrall "Reanimate Thrall". This magical effect gets a duration of 48000 game hours (i.e. permanent). It also looks like Potent Atronachs (the versions buffed by Elemental Potency) are seperate entities from regular Atronachs. The potent versions get their own listing in your Magic Effects list when you cast a thrall spell.

Conjure Flame Atronach --(summons)--> Flame Atronach ---(perk)--> Potent Flame Atronach

Conjure Frost Atronach --(summons)--> Frost Atronach ---(perk)--> Potent Frost Atronach

Conjure Storm Atronach --(summons)--> Storm Atronach ---(perk)--> Potent Storm Atronach

Conjure Dead Thrall --(reanimates)--> [any humanoid below level 40] + magical effect

Conjure Flame Thrall --(summons)--> Flame Thrall + "Conjure Flame Thrall" ---(perk)--> Flame Thrall + "Conjure Potent Flame Thrall"

Conjure Frost Thrall --(summons)--> Frost Thrall + "Conjure Frost Thrall" ---(perk)--> Potent Frost Thrall + "Conjure Potent Frost Thrall"

Now here is where the problem is:

Conjure Storm Thrall --(summons)--> Storm Atronach + "Conjure Storm Thrall" ---(perk)--> Potent Storm Atronach + NO magic effect

The Storm Thrall spell always summons a Storm Atronach, or Potent Storm Atronach with the perk. If the pattern were to hold true, it should summon a Storm Thrall instead. The magic effect shows up for Storm Thrall without the Elemental Potency perk, but with the perk, no magic effect appears. The Storm Atronach that is summoned does seem to be permanent though. I've had them following me around for awhile. There is a "Conjure Potent Storm Thrall" effect in the game (000CDED1) but it doesn't appear when you cast the spell. There is no Storm Thrall entity in the game when searching in the console. I tried figuring out whether the Thrall spell is summoning a different "Potent Storm Atronach" then the regular spell, but I couldn't figure out the right getav command to check their spell damage.

With the weird naming scheme, its really hard to tell which atronachs are more powerful than others. It would be nice for the game to give more information so min/maxing conjuration would be possible. And yes, I know that the Dremora Lords tend to do a lot more damage, but I want something I don't have to summon every 2-4 minutes.

Any other summoners out there having this problem on PC or consoles?

163. Summoned zombies and atronachs will always get stuck in the previous room and will charge in only after you clear the next room alone.

Watching Greg play Oblivion was one of my favorite things to come out of Gamespot. I can't wait to do it all over again.

I agree with you. I love knowing that I have a complete game sitting in front of me, but knowing how great the game is, I can't help but wish that there were more content coming (Bastion was like this). After Demon's Souls, I always had hope that they would add a 6th world that would be accessed from the broken statue in the Nexus.
