As with any artistic endeavour, especially your first really attempt YOU MUST START SMALL. It will be difficult, you will run into unexpected problems and your commitment will waiver. If you have a small achievable goal to start with you'll maybe achieve it. It almost certainly wont be as good as you expect it to be but you will at least have experience of making a game, then you can try another small project and get better.

If you try a hugeass project like this first time round you will get bored and give up, then a few months later try another huge project, not get anywhere with that either and become increasingly disenchanted. A writer doesn't writer a novel as their first attempt, they do a short story, film makers make shorts to start with, no 4 hour epics and so on.

Max Payne has a lot of brilliant lines but this is a screenshot of probably my favourite one:

@RobertOrri:

I trust you flagged that question up? Poor grammar AND impossible to answer.

The problem with hard questions as well is that computer gaming is both a broad and a deep church. You can get lots of obscure details about a game thats come knowledge to fans of JRPGs but not FPSes and so on. Still on the whole I can live with them, if I don't know an answer (Which is often) I just randomly click, can work out pretty well sometimes.

The reminds me a lot of the old third person game Evolva:

  But that likely wasn't successful enough for people to remember though it might just have been an inspiration.

Whats so bad about Mark Ruffalo? Hes like Gary Oldman in that he always looks so different and plays parts so well you don't realise its him. Or at least I don't.

@ArbitraryWater:
From what I understand you're probably better off getting Armoured Princess, its got all sorts of small improvements over the original. That said I've only played the original and that is pretty good too.

I've bought it and find it perfectly enjoyable. Kinda depressing people complain about the AI being too stupid because I struggle to beat it sometimes.

I've played the trials of a number of MMOs and bought vanilla WoW but the gameplay never seems to click with me. Which is odd because I like games like Diablo 2 and Titan Quest. Not that I have anything against people that enjoy MMOs, I'd quite like to get into them but as I say they just never click for me.

Yeah, I really like the videos even if I'm always slightly puzzled how they manage to put out so much great content seemingly without any ad revenue.

The Trivia game finally got me to register with Giant bomb and thanks to me being a sucker for XP and levelling I'm already writing a blog post. At the Minute thanks to the Steam summer sale I have a huge backlog of games to work through so I'm trying to actually finish games I'm playing before moving on to something new. At the minute I've very nearly finished Overlord with the raising hell DLC. But then I saw Dungeon Siege was really cheap to buy at Play.com and ended up buying that and I'm just getting into that. So of course now I'm on here doing quests too. Sigh.
