Again with the confusion! It's a loot game slash space sim with a procedurally generated universe. I think what game it is is very clear; i'll agree we probably don't know all the minutae due to limited gameplay vids but we have the framework.
Anyway i didn't realize it was sneaking up on us so soon, but it always felt like some huge thing looming in the distance. I'm most likely picking it up on release bar some disaster, and will probably lose a great deal of hours simply exploring. Hoping it will remind me of the best moments of skyrim in a way, where i just went in a random direction and got lost on some huge tangent.
i always thought people exaggerated the awkwardness of the q&a sections. they can be hit or miss but just as much there seems to be a genuine question, or the one guy who sincerely expressed what the site meant to him and it came off pretty honest and heart warming, or that crazy fucker with the crash bandicoot jacket. i'm not ready to write it off yet, but if the experiment invariably fails then so be it.
Wonder what kind of legs snapmap will give it. It's been said but i still find it strange how much they're doubling down on multiplayer; the beta was pretty fun from what i played but didn't seem that special.
Damn, i was about to turn in but now i feel like playing more doom. Surprise hit of the year?
E: im also playing on hurt me plenty and doing the melee kills (which actually don't break the flow at all imo) like a pleb.
i was never all doom and gloom about them moving to the different floor (jeff seemed hyped about it and i trust him), but if that means logistically BLLSLs won't work anymore that indeed makes me a little sad.
Can't they just loan out some space to them for a week? Or failing that, just film it all clandestine on the now Apple floor and don't tell anyone?
off topic but i guess they film all the quick looks in the same studio room now? i feel a bit dumb for not realizing that.
