I've got it all UV'd and the last thing I did was bake the base textures. My girlfriend of 3 years is going away for 7 weeks today, so a) I've been less able to work on this/anything. and b) my productivity will shoot up.

Test (TED talk) Pose and Test Bake with a low res normal map (512*512) and a rig that is ... well... arse. here's hoping can do something with the rigging :D (no pressure). Next I'll have to model the peripherals(shoe/glove/mask laces) Belt/Cape/Giantbomb Logo/ hair planes for his "mane". then I can start Texturing proper (this was done with a quick unwrella unwrap).

Update, bit of work done on the gloves, and more wrinkles on the trousers, still need to work on the creases and overall design of the clothes, will try and add as many references as I can into it.

On the last real leg of sculpting, then I'll retopologise it into a game model and texture this mother.

High Five!... Started work on the hands, and managed to COMPLETELY mangle them up before getting to this stage. bed now though; more to come late tomorrow.

Well like I said, once this is done I'm going to let people download and do what they want with it, so we never know

Yeah, Totally. At the moment I'm still kinda just roughing out shapes, and that was going to be just fur going down to the body, but now if I'm making it in low poly I may try and create a fur shader (like shadow of the collosus/kinectimals) to cover that area instead, which means taking that bullky fur back a bit... which will be interesting. Keep the crits coming!

Looking good. The more I look at it though, the more the neck looks a bit too bulky with a rough transition.

I'm surprised this isn't featured in the Bomb Shelter yet.

Slight Progress on the shoes and fabric of his trousers, need to do a lot more and get some practice down, after that's done I'll concentrate on the arms and hands, then try to get it out of zbrush and into maya and put some shiny shaders and stuff, also try and get a good hair/fur shader written

OK, so the Feet and Hands are still pretty much untouched, so need the most work done on them, updated the trousers a little but haven't had any time today to do any major work on it. I'll post a more substantial update either tomorrow or tuesday. Going to get a tonne of references on that type of material for the folds etc.

Yes on the hooves and deer legs, but keep the torso human, so that he looks even more like a monster. Doing great so far - here's hoping for a cameo in the next wrestling game.

Cool critique here, I agree with the faun thing (I really should have turned safesearch off when googling minotaur :| ) The hands haven't been worked on at all, and the feet have changed quite a bit since I got rid of the toes. I'll post up probably later tomorrow, I should really be going to bed. The legs ARE undersized as I made the whole torso bigger cos the head was oversized... if that makes any sense

That's more like it!, I'm still not going to do that, I'm pretty certain I'm going to keep it human with wrestling shoes.

What I DO need though, is any designs for his cape, colour suggestions for his trousers or constume design in general, should he be wearing more of a singlet?,

I Think going into that I wasn't feeling it, so the end result COULD have been a lot better. I DO like these types of legs, and I recently had some of those jumping stilts so I know how they feel and should look,.. but It's just not for this character :) more suggestions would be cool though for general stuff. Cheers

@Robster: Yeah, now that I've seen it, the legs do make it look much more like a generic minotaur creature, but I still like it. It already looks great either way though, so if you're feeling the man legs, just go with them.

Pretty much amazing. Couple of constructive criticism remarks though: 1) The knuckles look too prominent. 2) It looks better with the man legs/feet (the faun/satyr look doesn't do it for me), but the form looks a little iffy on the side of the feet with the little toe, and the legs look slightly undersized.

Yeah, They are called Digitigrade because the weight is on the digits (or hoof in this case), will attempt to stick them in now before I carry on with any more high details. if they look too generic God of War I may reverse it though

The one thing I thought people here, what with all the games being played, wouldn't think about this thing is that it's terrifying, unless you're like scared of deer. and apart from RAPING YOU IN YOUR SLEEP tonight, it doesn't pose any threat.

I don't think "digitigrade" is the correct word here, but regardless, if you give him hooves, I think his whole leg should be deer-like. Any other way would look incredibly awkward.

That's fantastic, Yeah the feet are odd at the moment because I'm using a base-mesh that has toes, I'll sort that out now I know I should go with feet.

Yeah, I may try an even more fucked up version for laughs, but I think I'm going to just get this looking as detailed as possible and get it baked down to low poly

Also, is there anyone who can rig well??, I'll probably try myself but usually it ends up badly...

Looking great!

As for crits, since he is already very humanoid I would stick with that and change his feet to boots because having toed feet and the suggestion of boots looks a little weird as it is. I'd also say give him some wrinkles on the areas where he is wearing clothing such as his legs, gloves and boots because right now it doesn't seem like he's wearing any even though you've put in some of those details. Once your done with the major forms I'd say add some suggestions of fur and some grain and scratching to the antlers to add a little detail. Look forward to seeing where you take this.
