You don't have to be rational, they are just games, but still lots of people cheat themselves out of a potentially better experience in different ways.
My problem with your comments is you're lacking the comprehension of the points I am making. It has nothing to do with copy/pasting.

That's a big call man. I disagree with pretty much everything you espouse and I am fairly confident that my experience seriously exceeds yours. Unless you are going to tell me that you played Pong ON RELEASE and have been playing games since, then the sum total of my experience and knowledge usurps yours. Of course, if I were to say that, then I clearly would be a total wanker.

Another big call man. Let's just say that I think that Harvest Moon is the best games series ever. Is my opinion and therefore criticism of others who view to the opposite justfied? Hell no. I bought the original Xbox to do exactly what you just said. What I found was that with less than 30 minutes in, I couldn't stomach any more of Halo. Stupidly, I bought Halo 2 assuming the same. Same result. Those Tom Clancy games I bought were even more of a bigger loss. Doom 3?, well that never got a second try. Don't assume that just because you (and others) believe that yur experience was so orgasmic that everyone else wuld be foolish not to try it. Thet are not 'cheating' themselves, they are simply obeying experience and taste.
My work colleague was thinking about getting a new gen console last year. At this time, I was having a blast on the Wii and he knew I was knowldgeable on games, so he asked me for an opinion. After some careful questioning, I told him that a Wii would be a big mistake and the 360 is the way to go (if he was willing to risk hardware failure). He has his taste and I have mine. The same applies to everyone and I always find it somewhat irksome that so called and self appointed 'experts' always give subjective views rather than objective ones. The trouble predominantly with those views is that they are invariably and possibly intentionally, insulting to others.

Perhaps you should make your points more understandable then.
Sigh. Why do these threads always descend into banality? Wouldn't it be so much more fun to post inthreads about things you like?

Wow, very old school. Yes, these points are also very well stated, simply from these two posts I've seen from you, as opposed to the near hundred made by Alexander and Ichi put together on this thread, I would much more confidently call you an elitist, but not because you have been playing games since Pong and therefore must obviously be a veritable walking wikipedia of game knowledge, because you give, or at least are so far giving, the easier to take into account when making a decision about a game or console OBJECTIVE viewpoint commentary.
What you say is true about objective viewpoints, I mean, if I had told my best friend, who had a 360 in his house before a Wii, other way round for me, that he was an idiot to do so because I liked sitting down in a slump on my couch making the slight movements necessary with the remote to play Wii Sports and turn into a "that guy" of the Wii, rather than do what he did, sitting in a slump on his couch moving the control sticks a bit to shoot people in Halo 3 and becoming a "that guy" of the 360, i would have just been an idiot and the exact same would have been true if he had told me something similar for 360, but neither of us do, since we both have one of each now, or did try to force our preferred console on each other, we were both contempt with becoming a "that guy" of our own system and then having fun as we got our ass kicked in Brawl or Halo 3 by the other every once in a while, laughing because we couldn't stay alive for more than a minute.
It made and still makes games fun, we didn't care that the other one didn't have the "worthwhile" console, I never do, my posting here about this isn't saying that the Wii is the best while the 360 and PS3 are pieces of shit, only the PS3 is, all I am saying, that is in a contrary position to Ichi, that the Wii at least did not have a dismal lineup of games, there were plenty of titles to please both "true" gamers and "casual" gamers, if you don't think so, then fine, but I'm not going to go off saying that the 360 had a dismal 2008 just because I only got the console in mid September and only had the money to get a few titles that I didn't end up enjoying, oh and by the way, why do you give a flying fuck about having everyone believe and agree with what you do, even though it's clear that those of us on this thread who don't aren't going to be convinced by you telling us that we're basically retarded for liking the Wii and it's 2008 year anyway?
