The lack of content lately has been completely insane. I remember Jeff saying we should give them "a few weeks" to settle in when the merger first happened 6 months ago.
These past few months have been slow as all hell, seems like it was the perfect opportunity for an Endurance Run, or some Quick Look Throwbacks, or Random PC Games, or Load Your Last Saves. Instead we get the usual TNTs (which have been pretty boring lately in my opinion) and subscribers get an occasional Friday show *if we're lucky*.
As it is now I absolutely plan to cancel my subscription. But who knows, maybe BLLSL will blow/change my mind.
@ck1nd: Yeah they are suuuper awkward on mic/camera but I would expect as much from developers that have no experience in PR. When I first saw the kickstarter video I thought it felt kind of refreshingly honest. Just a nerdy dude who wants to make a cool game.
@ck1nd: Yeah I was pretty heartbroken when I found out that Terraria was done. I feel like there was so much more potential there. It's insanity how much enjoyment I got out of a $10 game.
I'm not a huge fan of the art either, but If it gets popular enough I'm sure the internet will come up with some amazing graphics mods since all the art is supposed to be easily changable.
Hey guys. Just wanted to let everyone know about this livestream being run today by the creators of Crea. Crea is a Terraria-like open world sandbox game in 2D with more RPG-like elements which is designed to be extremely moddable. They are running a kickstarter, which has already met it's goal, but more always helps and they do have a few stretch goals.
Personally I sunk over a hundred hours into Terraria. Unfortunately Terraria will no longer be recieving any updates, so supporting this was a no-brainer for me. Take a look if you're interested.
Be warned if you're checking out the livestream, their frontman a bit awkward on mic. But he's the developer, so yeah.
I've saved the game for now. Any advice on saving our collective dwarven skins?
Just one idea: If you have access to any invader weapons you can try to salvage those. Foreign weapons are forbidden by default so you would have to unforbid those in your stockpile menu. Conscript the entire fort, set their military labors so they'll use the right weapons and have a good old fashioned bloodbath. Weapons pretty much make all the difference in combat, even unskilled dwarves equipped with a decent weapon can do some serious damage.
Due to all the deaths and lack of booze the fort must be dangerously close to a spiral of depression. A great dining room and good food/drink can offset even the worst negative thoughts.
If you guys can recover from all this I will be mighty impressed. Either way this is great so far. I fucking love Dwarf Fortress.
I found Uplink to be an incredible "roguelike-like" game. It has a bit of a learning curve, but it consumed many many hours of my time once I finally figured it out. And it's super cheap on Steam.
