Here's a few I would recommend:
Demon's Souls (this game has really drawn me in waaay more than I thought)
Valkyria Chronicles (if I knew then what I knew now, I would have bought a PS3 just for this game)
Any of the PixelJunk PSN games (except cars, I don't know about that one)
Shatter on PSN
Super Stardust HD
Wipeout HD (brutally hard, but a must if you like racing)
Plus the PS One classics are always hard to pass up :D
Hope this helps, and happy hunting!

Nice choice!  Just got that one, and am currently digesting it. And I agree, I make it a point to pay for all my music and support them by going to concerts if I really enjoy them.  To answer the topic though, my last bought albums were:
Everything is Borrowed by The Streets
Live at Reading by Nirvana
eMusic and Zunepass are currently destroying my hard drive space though, had to buy an external drive yesterday :D

Wow, I'm really surprised nobody has claimed the series that would be the top of my list:

Castlevania!
I must have spent hours on Castlevania and Simons Quest as a kid. Close runners up would be Mario, Megarace for PC, and Mario Kart.

So yeah, this game was made by Platinum Games, the same company that made God Hand for the PS2.  Look it up if you've never heard of it, cause its effin crazy but really fun.  Thats all I'm getting from Bayonetta, awesome gameplay mixed with crazy ape-shit stuff going on.  The sexual nature is so over the top that its meant to be absurd just for the point of being absurd.  Still dont really notice any problems on the PS3 demo either, but maybe its just me.

This definitely!  Its really crazy how the second game was that much worse once the original creator left, but then the managed to get it back on track for the third game (at least that's what I understand happened).  Generally though, I try to play games sequentially if possible.  I don't know if this counts, but I couldn't get into the original Fallout games after I played Fallout 3, but they are very different games.  I really thought I would like them too because I loved the Baldur's Gate series, but for some reason it just didn't happen for me.  Owell.

Old school NES Castlevanias are so awesome...makes we want to bust the first one back out again :D

To stay on topic though, I'd say Dawn of Sorrow is a good place to start if you are looking for a new beginning.  Also, the PSP Castlevania if you have that system is great; it has Dracula X and Symphony of the Night.  I mean, I bought a PSP just for that and thought it was justified (although I also got Patapon and that was totally worth it :D)

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know that this really awesome tower defense game is half-off on Steam now.  $4.99 for this game is a steal, I would definitely pick this up if you haven't yet!

Yay, got this but haven't installed it.  Loved the Second Encounter, but never played the first.  Looking forward to the craziness over Thanksgiving :D

I dunno, I'm thinking about getting a Wii after this.  I mean, it has the ever important VC plus games like Metroid Prime Trilogy, Mario, No More Heroes.  I would drop 200 bones for one I think, even with my measly grad school budget :(
