Resurrections was filmed a lot like Cloud Atlas or Sense8 was, gone are the hyper-precise framed shots of the original film. This is a different beast, one in which Lana Wachowski used a huge-budget tentpole sequel to not only comment on why the general moviegoing public is fine with just getting shoveled more of the same bullshit time and time again by the Hollywood factory that (funny enough) the Matrix franchise helped to create, but also managed to (in my mind) justify its own existence after asking the very question we all asked of it: why make a fourth film?
Movie rocked, one of the best things I've seen this year and it was a perfect anti-thesis to the fucking ouroboros of Spider-Man: No Way Home. So, I understand that there will be folks who walk away from it going "what the fuck was that?", for me, it gave me something I wasn't expecting and provided me with something better. Only real knock against it, I'd say, is that (yeah) the fight scenes aren't uh.. the best (especially compared to what we got in the original trilogy) but there aren't enough of them to really be a big concern to me.
