Mining colony setting, ala Red Faction. Guns include jury rigged mining equipment. for Killstreaks could be things like power excavators with big ass plasma drills or some shit. Maps might have underground sections that players can collapse to change the environment or layout.
In 2 minutes of sitting here thinking about it, I thought of a setting CoD hasn't used that would fit the bill of "boots on the ground" without being a retread. This shit isn't hard.
I really hope this doesn't end up being a series that's cursed with tons of potential and never living up to it, but signs are starting to look that way.
I'd be down for more Halo Wars. I'm curious to see how they emulate the feel of the Flood being a physical flood of bodies with the population limit, however.
The one thing I think this game does well is add an "Attempt" count to the leaderboard listings. Great way to make it even more obvious which scores are bullshit.
For those who don't know, No Goblin are real good people. Both Roundabout and 100 Foot Robot Golf have giant golden statues of Ryan Davis as he appeared in one of the GOTY videos, sombrero and everything.
