@darkjester74:
Yeah, it was really cool of them to post the whole feed up, and not cut the saved video off for those of us that didn't watch it live.
 This seems like an awesome new feature, and I can't wait to see what you guys have in the coming weeks.

Also, THE RETURN OF DREW ON HALO NEXT WEEK.

@Shard:
Well, I understand your contempt for Pittsburgh as a Detroit fan.. believe me, I don't like Detroit much either. Penguins fans and Red Wings fans don't seem to get along that well, but seeing as you're cheering for Chicago, maybe we can. =) lol

And an update for the OP: There actually is a game tonight, San Jose and Detroit, 9pm EDT.

I love your enthusiasm for the takedown of the Capitals, haha.. Halak did once again steal the show, and sent Washington packing.

Bring it on, Montreal.

Hey, sweet! I love hockey! This seems like an interesting thread, lets take a lo-

" Interesting thread. I can understand love for a sport, but I cannot seem to understand why people care about a league when the sport's as corrupt as some claim. Bought refs/puppet master commissioner rigging games? The whole thing sounds crazy. "

WHAT

What the ..?
What are you talking about? THE NHL IS NOT CORRUPT OR RIGGED, IN ANY WAY. Who is telling you this garbage?

@KingBroly

All leagues have corruption in them, plain and simple.  You just have to keep your eye open for them.  After the strike happened, Bettman tried to fix the draft so Crosby would end up a New York Ranger.  If it was done like it is done EVERY season, he would've ended up in Washington with Alexander Ovechkin.  It still doesn't deter from mostly awesome hockey.  Playoff hockey is the thing to see.  It's more intense than any other playoff system in sports. "

Who is this guy?

He's definitely not a real hockey fan, because real hockey fans don't use petty, extra-league excuses for why their team didn't win the championship, or more specifically, why another team did.
Because Crosby was drafted by Pittsburgh and not Washington, the explanation is that the whole system was rigged by the commissioner of the league?

" It's not that it was the lottery system, it was that they changed the odds so basically every team had an even shot at the #1 pick.  It was really stupid.  Bettman WANTED Crosby in New York, but that didn't happen because New York is the biggest TV market.  Putting New York in the finals 2 years running would've been pretty sweet for the NHL ratings wise, don't you think?  Crosby would be making more fans if he was on the Rangers. "

You are either an expert troll, and by expert, I mean you've got your goddamned PhD in the field...
or, slightly more credibly, you are a moron of RIDICULOUS proportions.

It's not that it was the lottery system, it was that they changed the odds so basically every team had an even shot at the #1 pick.  It was really stupid.

First of all, yes, in the 2005 entry draft they changed the percentages for each team so that any club had a chance at the #1 draft, but it was done systematically, according to the teams' playoff appearances and entry drafts from the past three years. Mathematically, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, New York (Rangers) and Columbus had not done particularly well in the years leading up to the lockout, and were mathematically the most deserving for the greatest opportunity for the #1 pick.
Following your logic from the previous quote, the Capitals should have had the #1 draft pick in 2005 if it was done like it was "EVERY SEASON" beforehand, no?
In the 2003-04 season, Washingon was 2nd last in the league, ahead of only Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh would still have gotten the greatest chance for the #1 pick, even if they had followed the lottery rules for previous years.

Bettman WANTED Crosby in New York, but that didn't happen because New York is the biggest TV market.  Putting New York in the finals 2 years running would've been pretty sweet for the NHL ratings wise, don't you think?

I personally have never heard this story before, and I've been a hockey fan for the majority of my life (19, almost 20 years). It sounds like the absurd ramblings of a sad, immature theorist, without the capability of moving on from a silly malevolence towards the NHL because their favourite team didn't get a good spot in the draft.
Did you really want Sidney Crosby that badly? I figured Washington fans didn't like him because he's supposedly just a juvenile prima donna that cries a lot, the total counterpart to their manly, goal-scoring god Ovechkin. But it's so clear now!
**(Note: As a loyal Penguins follower, I'm not the world's biggest Ovechkin fan, but to Washington faithful: I didn't mean any disrespect towards him with that comment... it was just for illustrative purposes, I assure you.)**

..Or maybe it's just you, throwing a tantrum on the internet.

Let's do a little experiment:
Any other Washington fans (or for that matter, hockey fans) that have a problem with the 2005 drafting?

I think everyone knows the Canucks PK is terrible.  6 times this season they've allowed 2 power play goals IN A PERIOD.  When it comes to conspiracy, it's mainly Bettman is Pro Penguins and anti-Capitals/Canada.  The Penguins led the league in terms of amount of power plays this year, but conversly they also had the worst power play in the League.  They also had something like 11 games against opponents that had a game the previous night, the most by any team by 4 or 5.  Interesting not is that they didn't even win a majority of those games, and two of those games were against the Capitals, both of which they lost. "

Wait a minute, something about this doesn't seem right...

" Actually, that's not true. Pittsburgh was 4th in PP opportunities this season after Carolina, Dallas and Tampa Bay:

And they were 19th in Power Play percentage.:

Also, they were 6th in Times Shorthanded:
  http://www.nhl.com/ice/teamstats.htm?fetchKey=20102ALLAAAAll&sort=timesShort&viewName=penaltyKill

Edit: Also, here's an article (with a chart!) that shows the Pens actually had MORE back to back games this season then last.  Edmonton and Ottawa both has 5 LESS back to back games. Bettman sure does hate Canada!
  http://www.ontheforecheck.com/2009/7/16/950950/how-much-does-your-favorite-team

There is no conspiracy. People just want to hate Crosby and Pittsburgh because they're on top. It happened to Detroit (still does, really) and it happens to every team/player that does well. Haters gonna hate.

For the record, I'm neither a Pens fan or a Crosby fan. It just frustrates me to see that this is how people view the sport I love so much when it's just not true:

Oh, that was it, you were just completely wrong.  Thanks Lauren, for factually proving this clown incorrect.
I also really respect you for sticking up for the subject, not because it's your favourite team or player, but for the name of hockey itself. It might seem like I'm a little biased in the matter being a Penguins fan, but I definitely would have done the exact same thing here even if I wasn't.

" I want to know exactly how anyone could possibly think that a game that is so ridiculously random as hockey could be puppeteered by the Commissioner of the league.  Have you ever noticed how many top ten highlight reel goal moments feature commentators talking about something other than the current play, being caught off guard, and then shouting at the top of their lungs? Hockey's too random to fix in the way people believe. I watched today's game, Detroit had Phoenix by the throat for the first period, but Bryzgalov (the veteran) outplayed Howard (the rookie). That's not a fix, that's a probable outcome. "

Thank you also, Suicrat, for seeing what this guy was posting and knowing it was totally unacceptable.

Discussing your favourite hockey team and players is awesome. I love doing it, in fact, especially with people who love it just as much as I do. Having an intelligent conversation with another sports lover (especially a hockey lover) is actually one of the coolest things I can think of.
Spewing conspiracy-fueled nonsense on a videogame-based website, where people might not know the particular ins and outs of certain sports, is NOT cool, however. The users of Giant Bomb deserve much better than the outlandish falsehoods you seem intent on sharing with everybody.

I really don't look forward to a reply from this clown, but I think it's inevitable.
What I really wish for is to converse about hockey with all of you without subtle (and not so subtle) twists of propaganda... way to ruin the discussion and shame Washington fans everywhere, KingBroly.

It kinda sucks when quests come up that I have no clue about.. I've never played a Wing Commander, Final Fantasy or Mega Man game before for instance, so I was left to look to the community for help. I did OK on the Valve and Mortal Kombat ones, but there were still ones that I would never have gotten on my own.

Also, Toasty step #1 is misspelled in the quest log.. it doesn't affect it's unlocking, but it seemed like a pretty blatant typo.

" Watched the whooooole thing.  Not sure if it was time wasted since there were some hilarious moments plus watching Drew play Halo 2 for like 2 hours straight.  Josh was quite a character (wasn't he the dude from the 'How to Build Bomb' early episodes?)  Vinny playing guitar while Dave was singing was amazing.  If Jeff and Brad were there then it would have been spectacular.  Jeff's call-in from Hawaii was awesome, though. "
Me too, all 7 or so hours of it.. with maybe only a couple breaks to use the washroom and brush my teeth. haha

I think the intern Josh they had at the beginning in the How to Build a Bomb series is different from the one who was at the Xboxalypse.. the Josh they had there moderating the caht was the only bad thing about the night, in my opinion. His attitude and personality just didn't mesh with any of the Giant Bomb regulars at all, and it sounded like he was an absolute annoyance to them every time he opened his mouth. Some of the time it got pretty awkward, like when he'd shout random stuff and nobody would say anything, or how he whined about having to spend a few extra hours with THE GUYS THAT WORK AT GIANT BOMB. 'Sall good though, it was definitely an enjoyable night, regardless.

 I totally agree with this.. if they're not deleted outright, then at least have them move them to a completely new set? After all, we've established the one secret quest isn't really specific to videos, and is kind of comment-based outlier unsuitable for the 'AV Club' quest bundle. I'd say take the 'First!' quest with it, as well.

As @MasterOfPenguins_Zell: said, the real experience comes from fully completing a quest set, and not individual ones from many different sets.
