It is pretty dumb, but I kinda feel for the OP since I didn't really know what to do with mine last week.

I'd grown my hair out to a shag every winter for the past 4 years, but I was sick of it and how static-y it got because the cold weather was so dry (I'm in Southern Ontario)..
My recommendation is to shave it, as it becomes much more manageable and requires far less maintenance every morning and during the day. I got a #4 on top and a #2 on the sides, and I think it looks pretty good. My hair also grows pretty quickly, so I just got it short all around and I'll just grow it from there, instead of leaving it too long on the top vs. the sides and risk having it look like a crew cut.

So I'm having a bit of trouble with the wireless connection in my house.. I'm using another laptop on my LAN to post this.

Getting right down to it:
When I start IE or Chrome, the homepage for the respective browser seems to load fine.. for Firefox, I have Google.ca as my homepage but it isn't loading the Google Sesame Street letters anymore, just the white page with the search box and hyperlinks below). In fact, loading Google on any of the browsers is ok, but none of the other sites work properly. Entering anyother URL in a new tab just brings about a finished, blank page with "Done." in the bottom left corner of the browser. However, one post in another, out of date forum mentioned trying a JavaScript tester site, ( http://mistered.us/test/alert.shtml) and bizarrely that loaded fine as well, but I have no idea what that means.

It should also be noted that restarting my computer has so far fixed the problem, but only temporarily (only for 2 hours or so) before I'm locked out again to everything but Google.

I did some searches on this computer before posting to try and diagnose the problem and didn't really reach a solution, so I came here, as the Giant Bomb community is pretty well the only group of people I really trust. Hopefully there are some whizzes on GB that know how to solve this..?

Oh, and let me know if this kind of post isn't right for this forum, and I'll take my question elsewhere.
Thanks guys.

ALSO: If you require me to post a cmd "ipconfig/all" test, I'm willing to completely type it out on this 2nd computer if it will help, because the results of that is plain gibberish to me.

" So how come they are making the PC version $60 AND making you pay for dlc?  Console games are overpriced at $60 to make up for selling the actual system for cheap; PC games were never supposed to be priced that high... and after that ripoff, they even make me pay for dlc... Damn, talk about maximizing profits. "
..Because this game is called Modern Warfare 2, and it will sell bajillions of copies on every platform, regardless of price.

@Suicrat: Thanks for the help, but you were pretty well completely wrong with both of your answers.

I'll simplify them for anybody who can help me in the future:

Q1. In Be A Pro mode, is there a way to trade players from your between your team and another? Is it even possible to edit your team's lines, ie. move a player from Line 1 to Line 3, or anything like that? Or is all of this only available in GM Mode?

And for Q2, I was talking about  watching the play sitting on the bench waiting for my stamina to go back up, not being on the ice with them. I obviously would call for a pass if they were handling it for too long, although I pretty much control the puck the whole time when I'm out there. Is it just the AI's tendency (ie. how they were programmed) to move it back and forth over and over and over between the D and LW or RW? It's frustrating watching them do this while I'm resting for nearly an entire Powerplay when I'm down one or more goals.. urg.

I didn't even need an answer for Q2, it was just a general comment.
Q1, anybody?

So I've been playing Be A Pro mode since release, and I just realized (about 55 games in the season) that I now have Patrick Sharp on my line. Well, that's great, but I'm playing for the Penguins, and I'd rather not have Patrick Sharp on my team, let alone my line. It was weird, because it alerted me when there was a trade previously in the season (Mike Rupp <---> Lawrence Nycholat), and I'm positive it wasn't in the roster update that I downloaded because the Penguins never traded for Patrick Sharp!!

Is it possible to access any form of player movement in Be A Pro mode, whether it is Team-Team trading, or merely editing lines? Do I have to wait until I'm on the 1st line (currently on 2nd), or what?

Also, on an unrelated topic, I'm getting sick of having my defense and winger pass it back and forth for like 5 minutes in the offensive zone before taking a shot at the net. What is the deal with that? Was this an issue in recent NHL games (I haven't played an EA Sports NHL game since 2002)?

Why wouldn't you just stay at one point, have one guy near the cans and toss them from one player to the next, or even from the guy in the video's perspective, just toss them from that upper room right into the pool?

I wonder if they implemented a penalty for a throwing-the-can strategy, like each throw leaks a bit of gas or removing the ability to drop the cans at all once you've picked them up.

..And no, I still won't be buying this one. Nice try, Valve, but this seems a little tacked on just to be able to say "oh theres this WHOLE NEW OTHER MODE guys! Its totally worth it now."

I really only listen to the Bombcast and the RvB DrunkTank (usually about 40 minutes - 1 hour and a bit) podcasts on a regular basis, although I do like to catch G4's Sessler's Soapbox, The Escapist's Zero Punctuation, Area5's Co-op and 1UP's Broken Pixels - whenever they start to make new ones again - for my weekly video feed.

On an unrelated, non-gaming topic, I recently downloaded the first few seasons of Ricky Gervais' podcast of his old XFM radio show from back in 2002.. and it is a fucking riot. Karl Pilkington is my probably new favourite person, ever.

In my experience, achievements have the ability to make 'bad' people out of good ones, also known as 'achievement whores'. You know, people who buy/rent the game for the sole purpose of completing it enough for as many points possible, virtually disregarding any of the real things that make a game a game. What a person does with their purchased property is their business, but, c'mon. The fact that there is a market for crappy games (for example, TMNT, or Cars) because of a few easy achievements is appalling.

@angelfan91:
"ahem*

I don't really hear much about PS3 owners that do this, even though they are pretty much the same exact thing.. only achievements provide the reward of an addition to a cumulative gamerscore. And that's what makes it evil. >=(

..I don't have a PS3, so I can't really have an unbiased opinion.

Achievements are way better, though. =D
