Games of 2014

This is a list of the games I enjoyed the most that came out in 2014. Having to think about this list really drove home how much Nintendo I've enjoyed this year.

Stuff I still plan to play:

Bayonetta 2, Dragon Age, DK: Tropical Freeze, 1001 Spikes, Pokemon

I still haven't played the first Dark Souls so I won't bother listing DS2.

List items

  • Easily the game I've spent the most hours on since a Final Fantasy Tactics game. The shooting is fantastic and the raids are the most fun and rewarding experience I've had in games in a long time. It may depend on having a group to do it with, but I do and so Destiny is a fantastic experience.

  • Fallen off Mario Kart after Double Dash but man was this game fun. The DLC release has gotten me playing it again and the tracks are just wonderful. The game looks amazing as well.

  • Love me some Persona and this is hitting those fans service notes extremely well. Add fun combat, great music and a nice art style and I'm loving this game.

  • I really enjoyed my time in vanilla D3 but did fall off after 80 hours or so. Blizzard has really come through in making this a game with tons of replay value. The rift system is fantastic and that need for every bit of gear I can get my hands on is still there. I definitely plan on revisiting this game often.

  • This game would be on here just for the soundtrack for me but the mechanics are sharp and I really enjoyed the look of the game as well. Just a great experience.

  • Looks and controls great. Plus Mega Man! And 8 player smash is exactly as chaotic and fun as I hoped it would be.

  • Just plain video game fun. The humor didn't always hit me but the traversal and items made up for that easily.

  • I'm a sucker for Zelda and have never played a Dynasty Warriors game before. I enjoyed it but don't think I'd go into the main series since I know the Zelda coating are what really got me to buy this game.
