The Japanese PS4 PSN store is no longer up and online, I would have edited my thread in the PS4 forum to say. Fun while it lasted.

Protip: Start a new game and ignore the Minutemen and early critical path stuff entirely. Way more interesting player character experience.

My follow-up pro-tip even for patch 1.3 is: Do not use Followers, or at least park them safe distances away to use as pack mules.

Makes the game so much better when they're not ghost-glitching geometry or aggroing enemies from blocks away. Saves headaches and saying things to the screen in disbelief, anger, frustration, surprise, shock. Ignoring the Minnies and Followers and heading straight for a certain suppressed pistol with a suitable build makes me feel I can replay the game to recover where my lost save was..

The way the performance issues get talked up on a certain forum that far too many of the industry of press and development praise and bow down to makes it sound like a badly done 3D Saturn game: Don't listen to those people ever. Game's very playable despite the ugly hitching that better have been on the fix-list since before the PS4 version went gold.

(Okay the "very" does not belong in "Game's very playable", the hitching is interfering with the inputs more than GTA5's PS3 FPS ever did for me in SP..)

Life hack: Tanks can fire their cannons on the move, and also when not on the move!

1) Play new non-special difficulty missions until they're done
2) Repeat old quick missions, side-ops, listen to all yellow tapes (enough to click play and call it a day)
3) Do new missions that appear (in one case you need five mission completions), return to 2
4) Mission numbers to ignore because they are criminally unfun and shit and optional: Sideop 150 which leads to mission 45

5) Ask yourselves how the hell this was higher on the GOTY list than an actual solid game like Bloodborne

@aegon: For me it's five six classes in the late 90's and a great sense for linguistic learning, while waiting for being able to study it fulltime on my own I've surrounded myself with the media and streamers (and Skyping) and developed a respectable sense of being able to understand the spoken language.

If you can handle the Genki books method it's recommended, I hear a lot of good about Michael Thomas's courses starting with "Foundation", then there's JapanesePod101 to check out. I've made many friends in Japan willing to box language with me and that's the most important thing, I teach them, they teach me.

NicoNico is despite its limits more complete than anything else, nothing can compare, really no networks of sites can compare. It is a wiki (with nice respectable people who don't have third grade grudges), youtube (without youtube comments and video-stealers and spam and boned third party takedowns and reports), twitch (without that kind of chat and community and spam), deviantart (without those kinds of people), tumblr (without those types), reddit (but with good management and community). The latest addition is NicoNiSolid, hosting 3D viewer applets (Unity etc) for peoples development in models, textures, outfits and tons of MMD goodness.

They've also got a points system for shopping on external sites so you can safely say it is everything that you will ever need. It is unique and I'd love for there to be an alternative in the west with the same quality people that make me continue spending my time on nico.

Haven't listened to the podcast, but I didn't know most of this. I just thought that NicoNico was a site where some Japanese people uploaded their videos and you'd be kicked out if they're over capacity.

How widely used is NicoNico. Is it the preferred video uploading spot in Japan? How much of a variety of stuff is on their? Video games, anime, news, tutorials? What kind of numbers does your average well known NicoNico uploader get per video?

Sorry for the boat load of questions. Just really curious since I can't just read the Japanese on the site.

1) Youtube is growing yet mainly for those who intend to become or already are high profile streamers/gamers.

2) Variety is infinite. I'm a fan of Japanese memes because of how they reflect the general humor culture and I recommend http://www.nicovideo.jp/mylist/11193866 to those interested (scrolling down there are options for regions and flags in registering).

3) News are mainly on the live (streaming) department, anime is broadcasted officially, even wrestling, racing, sports with a real good PPV system. Regularly classic TV series and films are broadcast without region blocking and for free.

4) Sometimes you get 50ish its first week, sometimes you get a seemingly random boom to 2500+, gotta gain virality and in my circuits it's about the big profiles, one tweets out or retweets and then it happens. Japanese youtubers hang on youtube, there's not much money to be made doing YT-like affairs on only nicovideo.

e: Oh and the variety of official broadcasts! Demonstrations in Taiwan? Broadcast! Weather disaster watch? Broadcast! Fishing from a pier or a river? Broadcast! Political debates? Broadcast!

Chapter 2 is doing new non-difficulty changing missions until out of them, then repeating quick old missions and side-missions until new missions appear which they will without warning. Chapter 2 is worth the time because experiencing and playing it puts a lot of Chapter 1 to shame.

Why the BLACK sneaking suit is still used in BRIGHT DAYLIGHT CONDITION is our question, when the want is to rush to the end of the mission.

Even with Desert Fox camo you need to be careful in OKB Zero but it is like playing an MGS game when you're wearing that, you can sneak around and do MGS game stuff like any other, even if you're not playing with somebody else for recording or having stage fright or talking at the same time.

His MGSV experience is like a COD game where all the enemies know where he is at all times and only a script decides when they are to shoot, he is visible from the maximum ranges in all conditions and stances and gimping his play the most he can by standing out like a full moon in a dark evening sky.

You know what, I'm not one of those soulsgame diehard streamviewers who complain of hosts not doing things right, let him have that experience, it's his playthrough, for all we know he might actually want the chaotic COD style that the game can be played in with great difficulty and frequent deaths.

If he complaints or mopes about getting spotted easily, disregard the last paragraph :D
