I too believe that there is really no excuse for it to be released much later. I mean, sure they may want to spread the releases of the two games out which is fairly understandable but what about Guitar Hero? That finally hit Europe in April 2006 and they lashed out Guitar Hero 2 that same November for Europe so they should really do the same here. We will probably find its down to some lame licensing issue for Europe. DAMN YOU LARS ULRICH!!!!
The 360 uses the standard DVD-5 (4.7Gb) and the bigger DVD-9 (9Gb) formats so if they were able to cram all the songs in the DVD-9, it shouldn't be a problem. Id say it would take roughly 5Gb altogether. But I doubt these will be downloadable from the store. Harmonix are just better off employing the new game install feature which is bespoke to Rock Band i.e it only imports the song files.
I believe they are the tracks that were listed from that leaked set list video just before E3. The reason I believe that is because the video included the likes of Panic Attack and that Megadeth song which turned out to be in the 'true' setlist. If my theory is true, expect to see bands like Muse :D
