Thought I would make a short thread for some well wishes for @unastrike , while kidney stones are a fairly standard procedure nowadays it does not make them any less goddamnedearthshatteringly painful. I had a couple nasty bouts with them before and they can be extremely painful and uncomfortable.

32 and already feel uninformed, irrelevant, and old. Especially when it comes to games. Recently moved countries and sold my ps4 and gaming PC. Downgraded to a serviceable laptop.

But then I got to giantbomb.com (a website about murder) and I can recover some of my lost HP.

See how cool that was I said HP, pretty cool huh.

Murder Island 2.

I threw 30 bucks at Star Citizen in the very beginning, so I guess technically I am a part of this whole thing. I just wanted a decent space trading/fighting/flying game that was persisitent and that I could play with friends. It has been YEARS since I have cared about what is going on with it. Is it anywhere near completion? When will it be a game that we can all play together? It just keeps going and going and going..... Apparently there are many teams of people hard at work on this game but a very cynical and hopefully wrong part of me feels like it is just a jobs program that will never yield any genuinely fresh and fun results.

The idea of GOTY being "deserved" or not is completely irrelevant. It's GB's game of the year, and no one elses. They could have given it to Gal Gun and as long as they all agreed on it it would have deserved it. People need to stop obsessing about dumb awards and review scores. The main function of GOTY is to re-cap the games that came out that year and say what needs to be said about them in depth, while also providing a shit ton of content.

They need to start over.

When does it drop? I dunno, it might be fine.

I think it's naive to think that this Far Cry will tackle racism and religious fundamentalism in any meaningful way whatsoever. It's a Far Cry game. Sure, it would be cool if they put some real thought into a message about these issues and used the game to portray that, but it is kind of hard to go a serious, socially aware route and then fly over a town dropping grenades on to houses, burning crops to the ground, stealthing around and ruthlessly slitting throats, etc. For the action to work the game framework needs to leave little moral ambiguity in your actions.
