One of the rare instances where I agree with Dan. This game had fantastic writing, good characters, and a great overarching story over five episodes. It was a great narrative experience.
What it wasn't, however, was a good game. The gameplay was too bare-bones for me. And hell, even if the choices counted towards gameplay rather than a CYOA, nothing about the choices actually changed much about the story.
So yeah, good story and characters, but none of its interactive elements counted as being good. I would have gotten the same experience if I watched someone play it on Youtube.
@sravankb: I'll take destiny talk over Dota talk any day of the week
If we had timestamps, I don't think any of us would have to deal with any topic we don't want to listen to.
All this being said, I don't mind listening to topics where I disagree with them, but I kinda don't care about a topic if prior history (and GB's opinions on certain topics) says that I'm not going to enjoy it. Just give me the option to skip it.
Manually skipping every 15-20 seconds on a podcast app is a bad way to experience your product. Give your audience better options.
Damn, I was hoping that they'd try new things with the gameplay considering this is a spin off.
Looks like I'll be skipping it as Uncharted 4 really soured me on this franchise.
Honestly, they don't even need to do anything new to it (at least, in my opinion). What they have, however - they really need to refine.
Polish up the core shooting mechanics, speed up the traversal / platforming (and provide multiple routes). These would be enough for me to absolutely love these games. The characters and settings are usually awesome, but the way they are now - I'd much rather watch someone play these than go through them myself.
I just can't get into this series. Uncharted 1 was just ok for me, and I really didn't take to how scripted everything was, with me being punished every time I went off script. So I jumped into the highly praised Uncharted 2 hoping it would show me why everyone loves this series only to find that it was....just ok and everything was still highly scripted, with me being punished every time I went off script.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess, but I just don't see the appeal in this type of game.
Same here.
It's got spectacle, but even that wears out after the 10th time Nathan "almost" doesn't make a jump. I've always felt like I'm just "along for the ride" and get a slap on the wrist from Naughty Dog every time I say I want to drive.
GBeast killing it as always. Loved the show! Kish was a great guest; would love to see her do the occasional show with GB. Sucks that she can't be in NYC that often.
Also - RIP Taswell. I've been rewatching some of these videos -
