I am not sure if it was the most, but I replayed the demo for Dark Messiah of Might & Magic a lot. I had multiple classes to choose from (melee, archer, and mage I believe) and the big deal at the time was the interactivity of the fighting. There were spikes on walls, barrels you could drop, and pits to kick guys into so it made replaying the demo worth it to mess around and see how everything interacted.

They also put out a multiplayer beta before the game came out that I played for as long as I could. I was interesting because it had a per-match leveling system, almost like a MOBA, where you would pick your abilities from a skill tree as the match went on. In addition to the interactive environments, it was a lot of fun.

Oddly enough I never bought the game. It came out around the same time as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I remember going to the Gamespot forums and asking which game I should buy, and the response was overwhelming Oblivion. I honestly regretted picking Oblivion over it.

I always wondered why bigger companies like this don’t dedicated a few small teams to basically be indie houses or R&D teams. I feel like they tried it with Grow Home, but stopped. I feel like it would be in their interest to having teams trying out new ideas to try and find a new thing, or at least a refinement on current ideas (like Valheim).

@noobsauce: I mean the entire series was released while they were owned by EA, and 2/3 were fully developed while under EA.

I have a Steelcase Gesture at work. It’s honestly the only thing I miss about going into the office. I almost bought one over the summer because I was having back issues with my chair at home, but I ended up buying a Secret Labs chairs because it was about $800 cheaper. The Secret Labs chair is not nearly as nice as the Steelcase, but it gets the job done. My biggest issue with the SecretLabs chair is it’s a little too firm and not as adjustable. With that said, it had solid back support, which is exactly what I needed.

@haz_kaj: Idk man, Kallie has been on the Bombcast a few times and seems great. Just finished the review and it was well written and thought out.

Personally, I would pick Last of Us Part 2 or Hades. But I think Animal Crossing should be a strong contender. It’s impact this year cannot be understated.
