My list of favorites, loosely in a specific order.

List items

  • Arguably the best RPG of all time. With a plot second to none and a cast of so many memorable characters, this is definitely my favorite RPG. This game was actually so good, it has pretty much stopped me from playing any future RPG's, simply because I feel that none of them will be able to live up to the bar set by FFVII. Still waiting on that remake Square...

  • WoW is probably the second MMORPG that I had ever played. I tried Everquest for a brief period but that game was way to convoluted. So after hearing about the excellent reviews that WoW was given, I had to pick it up. And the rest is history. I've been playing for about 3-4 years now. It really is a great game if to just come and go with. Never got addicted to it which is why I think I enjoyed it for such a long time.

  • By far one of my favorite games ever. I got introduced to this game my freshman year in college because I kept nagging my roommate to bring it. I have very fond memories of playing this game in my dorm room freshman year. It is also the game that greatly opened my musical taste to such greats as Megadeth, SRV, ect. This game's music is what I remember most about my freshman year of college. Well that and, you know, all the stuff I learned.

  • This game (originally the first Guitar Hero) has really helped me refine the music I listen to. Also, drums are fun as hell.

  • One of the sickest game franchise ever. So many insane characters, plot twist, crazy boss fights, and bizarre conspiracies that it's just a series you can't help but love. "Metal Gear?!"

  • I absolutely love the Splinter Cell series. I fell in love with it back in 2002 when I first played the game. I've always enjoyed the the series realistic approach to the games and love the unique bunch of characters. Plus the multiplayer is probably the best I've ever played.

  • My love for the CoD franchise started back when the CoD fanchise began. The original CoD was one of my most beloved PC games ever. Not only was the single player campaign insanely fun and intense, but this is one of the rare cases in which I could not get enough of the games online multiplayer. I literally played the games multiplayer for a good year after the games release. Anyways, the CoD franchise has always been one of my favorites, even with a few of lackluster entries (read: anything not developed by Infinity ward with the exception of CoD:United Offensive).

  • This was the first FPSRPG that I had ever played. And I absolutely loved it. By combining the controls of an FPS with upgrades to guns and abilities to fit different playing styles made it an instant hit. It also helped that the story was awesome and it was filled with conspiracies. To sum it up, think Mass Effect, but first person and way before it.

  • What can I say about this one. It's a classic. I have very fond memories of playing this game as a child for hours on in.

  • This was probably the best RE in terms of story and atmosphere. What starts out as Leon, a rookie officer on his first day at the department, being trapped in Racoon City and simply trying to survive quickly turns into a deep investigation of the dark secrets behind the zombie outbreak. Overall, an excellent game.

  • This is probably my favorite thing to come out of the Star Wars franchise. I mean the Star War movies were always pretty cool, but what was more interesting was the Star Wars universe. This game allowed you to create an awesome Jedi and uncover your roots as to who you are. Filled with amazing story elements, awesome characters, and crazy plot twist, this truly is one of the greatest action RPGs of all time. It also let you make your own decisions, good or evil, which would later influence the ending to the game. This game's story matches, if not exceeds, any of the Star Wars movie stories.

  • Resident Evil 4 was most definitely a shocker to me. After getting tired of the series tried and true game play, it was a great pleasure to play through a RE that was actually fun again. Combine that with the series' coolest character and a hell of a lot of thrills and suspense and you have a very awesome game.

  • I never though I'd enjoy a 2D platformer puzzle game. I was wrong. This really is one of the most unique, intriguing, deep games I've ever played.

  • One of the only Mario games I actually liked. Once again, such found memories of this game in my childhood. I'd get home from school, eat a snack, and go boot it up. This is another one of those classics that I just had a great time with.

  • UMK3 is probably my favorite Mortal Kombat. It may not have been the best one, but at the age I was playing (which was far too young), I didn't really care about game play. It had the most characters at the time which in my mind made it the best. Combine that with my Game Sharks "One Button Fatalities" code and I was set.

  • Never thought I'd enjoy a Batman game this much. Everything about this game is awesome. Sort of combines Splinter Cell and a brawler gameplay. Also, I really enjoyed the story and atmosphere.

  • I really enjoyed this game. It has a great story that is very cinematic and gripping. Its gruesome, and graphically beautiful with a number of unique environments that are sure to stick with you.

  • An oft overlooked title, this game really stuck with me. The whole cover system was amazing. It really was a unique experience considering the complete lack of cover based third person shooters at the time.

  • My favorite fighting game of all time. Not sure what was up with the single player, but this game was so awesome back in the day.

  • One of the greatest atmospheric survival horrors of all time. Loved the setting.

  • The is by far the scariest game I've ever played. Play at night with headphones in and the lights out. I literally was dreading leaving the safe areas in the game.

  • Probably the last Final Fantasy I've enjoyed (possibly ever with their last few entries).

You and I have similar tastes.  FFVII is also my second or third favorite game.
