I feel like Giant Bomb has been slowly dying the last few years now, even pre-pandemic. I just don't think the quality of the content is the same as in years past, and even on the bombcast and other podcasts there just doesn't seem to be the same amount of enthusiasm that there used to be, kinda like they are just going through the motions rather than doing something that they truly enjoy. Maybe it's because people left, maybe it's because they're just getting older, maybe it's just the recent crop of YouTubers taking what GB did back in the day and bringing a freshness to it, I don't know. I just know I dropped off GB pretty hard over the last few years and it makes me sad. I used to visit this site daily and consume as much content as I could. Now, I check in once a month or so and go "yeah... They're still doing that..." and leave. That's a huge bummer.

I wish Jeff & co all the best in the world.

For me it isn't so much lack of content, it's lack of quality content.

I haven't bothered much with GB in a while, I check back about once a week now.. The site just feels dead. What content I did see didn't interest me, and what little I did watch was just kind of boring. What spark the site used to have is kind of gone. I don't even bother listening to the podcasts anymore and I cancelled my premium subscription last summer (which I've had since it started). I've been on GB since 2009, lurked on the site before that and followed them on Gamespot for years before that... I'm just not into it anymore. I still game and keep up with things, but honestly I've switched over to Youtube channels for most gaming stuff these days.

It's just not the same anymore, and judging by other comments here and general lack of interaction on the site, I'd say it's not just me. It's a sucks because this place used to hopping back in the day with tons of new content every day and tons of activity in the comments section and the forums, now almost nothing. What a shame.

I still have no idea what that game even is. I watched reviews and had people try to explain it to me but I still just don't get it. Like, I understand the gameplay and the general concept of it, but it's so far out there... Kojima managed to out-Kojima himself on this one.

I don't think I'm gonna play it, probably just watch the cut scenes on YouTube.

I'm from New Jersey. I had a friend named Mario. We all said Marry-ee o.

I've heard both, both are correct.

Mint condition to me means like new, almost perfect condition. Something that, if it was in a sealed box would be considered new or new-old stock.

Local and regional elections very much do matter and affect your daily life in big ways. National elections, at least in the US, maybe not so much. Both sides kinda suck for different reasons and have horrible policies in general, so you're getting a shit sandwich either way. Just depends on if you prefer a Democrat shit sandwich or a Republican shit sandwich.

I know I spent 300+ hours in Skyrim, but before Steam was a thing spent tons of time playing Delta Force Black Hawk Down, which the last time I remember looking at stats it was 200+, and I know I probably played 2-3 times that over the 3 or 4 years I played it. I'm sure my time with CoD4 isn't far behind.

I'd love to see a 3rd person RE3 remake, which is supposedly in development now, however I'd also love a true survival horror reboot of the series. I loved the RE2 remake so if they did that for the original game (a RE-REmake, I guess?) would be awesome.

I'd look at one of the AMD Ryzen R5 2xxx chips right now and an x470 or x370 motherboard and around 16GB of DDR4 RAM. They are all super cheap right now because of the new stuff that just launched and AMD's Ryzen 5 seem to do much better than Intel's i5 line recently. You can't go wrong.

As for graphics, it's hard to beat the Nvidia GTX 1660 or GTX 1660ti. Those are the best bang for your buck right now and they are also super cheap.
