I'm working on novels and I do anime-style sketches during my free time. I view the writing stuff more like an obsession and the act of storyboarding and typing takes concentration, so it's not really relaxing nor a hobby. I don't know what I'd do without it though. I also read books and a lot of manga.

As such, games are one of the few things where I can really take a load off and relax.

@falserelic: As far as I can tell, Automata shares elements and characters, and takes place in the same universe as Nier, but it is more like a spiritual successor. The director said the story is seperate from the rest of the series, but who really knows?

Definitely Persona 5 in April. It hardly needs to be said for the RPG fans on this site.

Before that, maybe Nier Automata, especially after I played the demo yesterday. Definitely intrigued. The style, mood, and world appeals to me greatly.

I was gonna say Persona 3, but since Persona 5 is coming out next year, you might want to refrain or you run the risk of getting fatigued with the Persona-style combat and progress loop earlier when you start 5 after playing FES. Then again, playing 5 after 3 may help you appreciate the changes they appear to be making to the formula, so it's up to you (obviously).

I've only watched a playthrough of Suikoden II, but even then I can tell it's a phenomonal game. A few scenes throughout the game evoke way more sentimentality than pixel sprites have any right to. There aren't many games like Suikoden II at all, so it's a good palate clenser too. Albeit all of the games on the poll are all super unique.

Both Danganronpas have fantastic stories with memorable, zany characters, but I wouldn't say it looks especially fun to play. At all.

The investigations, court room debates, the minigames--it's all seems very bland.

I dunno, maybe someone who actually played it could say (and probably someone will tell me) otherwise.

Q. When does a Witcher bow to a man?

A. When he's friends with a chamberlain.

Best I can do.

Sweet stuff man. I like how the colors evoke the old 3-D red and blue glasses thing. Nice touch there.

Though I'm aware this post is largely positive about Hatsune Miku--which is perfectly fine--this video will always be relevant.

I enjoyed the blog by the way. Nice to hear some honest thoughts about it that neither vilifies nor worships this neon-haired virtual girl we know and love(?).
