This has been the case in the UK for a while now, I believe it stemmed from a customer complaint and legal action against a game shop for the same lack of information. Now every pre-owned game that has any kind of downloadable content whatsoever - be it online pass or a character costume - is labelled up as 'downloadable content used' or similar.
This is the perfect solution to that problem of resurrecting an old game series - just make two! Do the inevitable FPS, and simultaneously get someone to do a game that's actually in the same genre as the originals. Win-win.
A lot of people seem down on this because they basically want the crash mode from Burnout 2 or 3 lifted out and placed on XBLA/PSN. I'm going to take a wild shot here and predict this as one of those downloadable gems that inspires frenzied highscore competitions, and everyone will praise the accessible gameplay and forget that they bashed it based on the earliest screens.
