Looking forward to watching this one, Just wanted to let all you duders know Austin over at waypoint has been doing a really fun and super informative play through over on their Twitch.
PS- Anyone who wants to play the game, to keep from going mad waiting for tiny infuriating pauses between animations and audio and between turns there is a simple INI edit that changes a couple settings to 0 that used to be 1 or 2 second pauses for no fucking reason.
I'm just starting but want to say that Ben was very much in danger while sleeping on the beach. In fact I'll just press play now and see if someone comes along to beat him to death then eat his flesh for sustenance.
*1)this will be pointless as so much will be wrong but you can use anyone's camp fire, it just needed more wood to restart.
2)oops, looks like half of bens base was made of thatch and twine rather then the wood he could have upgraded to, that would have probably survived.
3)is anyone friendly? it helps to not mute chat/voice-chat and communicate with people rather then seemingly ignoring them while they probably ask "friendly?" ... but also no, not many people are :)
4)"Haven't played since 2014" I'm with that guy, that's when i had the most fun with the game, since then I've tried to play a few times but it's just lost a lot of the magic from the early days.
5)Whats stopping him from logging out? your body would drop to the ground asleep and you would then be killed and robbed. They expect you to sleep in your fortified house.
I'm not going to pretend fallout 4 VR isnt janky, it is just like all Bethesda games, but also Jeff was using it on unsupported hardware that was clearly causing graphical glitches as well as his control problems. You can pick up objects like any other VR game, you just need to hold the interact button. The real knock against it is the Bethesda pedigree, you need to change a bunch of .ini settings and mod the hell out of the game before it's the smooth experience you would expect from a modern game. Once you've done that though it's pretty great.
Once you get really good at Echo Arena it speeds up a lot. I'm in good shape but i always leave a play session covered in sweat. One thing Jeff missed was as well as those catapult boost rings what you want to do is have the guy in the lead hold the ring, while you hold on to his legs, then when he boosts forward at his maximum speed you use their momentum to push forward more and gain crazy speed. That's how the other team kept getting breakaways and scoring so fast.
Also i can not believe how awesome Fallout 4 VR is. I wasn't a big fan of the game when i got the standard version but all the systems driven changes they made and the way npc's interact with each other just feels more natural in VR.
