@theimmortalbum: The limit starts at 100, but it can be raised to 500 through in-game currency. Us dudes up top are going to try to grind out the dough to expand to at least 300 (or more, depending on how quickly this thread gets responses) over the head-start period.

Member limit is 50 upon guild creation.

2 months later people are still posting in a thread where the issue was resolved as the op himself saying he misread a quote.

And if you read the thread, someone else had the same issues.

I've been thinking about this issue lately a lot. ANet hasn't given a final number for character slots, but I really hope it's enough to make 1 of each CLASS. OP talks about 1 of each race, but I want to be able to play all the classes I paid $60 for as well as all the races I paid for.

You'll get 5 + however many you buy from the gem store. Just to put it into perspective though, Guild Wars: Prophecies had 6 professions and 4 character slots, with additional campaigns granting +2 professions and +2 character slots (or in the case of buying Factions or Nightfall 'first', 8 professions and 4 character slots). You always had a deficit to encourage buying character slots IF you wanted one of every available profession.

Yeah, I just find it a little hard to swallow that I'm paying $60 for a game with 10 classes and have to pay extra to be able to play them all.

And I know there's the "They have to make money" arguement, but then just lock all the classes behind DLC and make me pay for the ones I want to play.

But I guess you can say they're providing that option right off the bat with 5 available slots. I don't know how to feel anymore. What is a man?

While you've acknowledged that you can buy gems with in game gold, do remember that you can delete characters and remake them, so your point of 'not being to play them all' is not entirely correct. You can play them all, just five at any one time straight off the bat.

Roster is currently up to 222 duders, which will rise to 228 duders once Robbie updates the new additions since his last update. We're halfway to capacity guys ... before launch.

Oh god, are we already that high? Oh no. Still - 272 to go, I won't worry too much about it for now.

Do remember that we have to pay to upgrade guild capacity. We're going to need 1 gold 12 silver (raise cap to 300) to add everybody at launch/headstart.

I'm a longtime GiantBomb fan that only recently stumbled on the Lincolncast. Great show! If there is still room, I would like to join the guild.

Edit: Is the plan still to roll on Yak's Bend?

Yes there's room and yes we're on Yak's Bend.

Your name is on the roster now, so it's not a big deal. That said, is probably going to do the same as before: make a google docs thread just before the headstart and ask everybody to put their name down for invite priority.

@Seppli: After stumbling around a bit to get back on my feet, I managed to get top player in the very last match with my dagger/focus ele, less than a minute before the test ended.

I 'always' get top player in at least 3 categories, running PUG. You get those for almost everything you do. From getting the most kills/captures/defends/etc., to map specific stuff like killing the most NPCs/hitting the most people with the trebouchet/etc. Just getting spanked in 1 on 1 quite often, that's all - because the elementalist's dps does not offset his squishiness, like it should.

Didn't try daggers yet in PvP. Hate them for PvE. Guess dagger skills might do great DPS in PvP, with all the melee range fighting going on. I like the staff's skills the best. They're just so straightforward and versatile and go together wonderfully, sadly it's a bit lacking in the singletarget DPS department. Also tried some scepter and focus gameplay, which has awesome survivabilty options, but just doesn't deal enough DPS - even if specced and geared totally towards it.

I'll definitely need to get a steady sPvP group quickly, especially if I want to make use of the tournament tickets and get some sweet loot - because PUGs can be an aggrivating affair. Good god, some players tend to fight anywhere, but at the objective. Drives me nuts.

proved how deadly a daggers elementalist was, mainly due to his crits. Focusing on crit chance and having the 1s vigor on crit minor trait meant he could kite and dodge all day long. The lower armor and health can be made up for and still dish out respectable damage.
