Heyo, thanks for the shitload of work ya'll have been putting into this.
I'm definitely in favor of the ~once a month-ish marathon method, it's been a ton of fun but the truly random variety is even more fun IMO.
Also, I think we could really use a topic or status thing stickied at the top letting people know what's going on with the stream ATM. Staff and mods would be able to edit it obvs, and it could be used to let people know stuff like "yeah this feature is being removed, don't worry" so people don't have to ask about it and let the talk about it start up again.
Don't use a rice cooker! They're wastes of money. It is incredibly simple to prepare rice in a standard cooking pot, just follow the instructions on the packaging for your rice to the letter, especially since every different rice requires a different rice to water ratio for proper cooking. I know a lot of packaging instructions can be fudged based on personal taste but rice requires specific amounts of water to come out fluffy and delicious, just follow the water to rice ratios exactly and you'll get perfect rice every time in like a quarter of the time it takes to cook it in a rice cooker.
I know it's a silly thing to get all excited about but it's saved me a ton of money to just be able to cook up some rice in like 15 minutes for dinner instead of it taking 45 minutes in a cooker and knowing I'm not patient enough for that on the drive home and just getting some pricey take out instead.
ETA: also come now, sprickets aren't scary, they're cat toys. My cat brings me a couple every night, I guess they're super easy to hunt. I just assumed they were regular crickets and not a different type entirely.
