Adios is on my list to play. And thank you for sharing your story and the feelings that Halo brought back to you.

I really enjoy your voice here. Away from reviews and the stiffness of ~professional games coverage~, this breezy and conversational tone is extremely your bag. Your personality comes through so well and this list was a joy to read.

Thanks for the list Drew! I can't believe I haven't thought about playing Unpacking with my partner. The zen-like titular unpacking didn't hook me but I want to experience the story. My partner is so detail-oriented that I feel they would be better at taking care of the nuts-and-bolts of placement while I could soak in the atmosphere.

@sethmode: You may have gotten lucky. I had my first issue with it yesterday. I was playing Nobody Saves the World, and saw it needed an update. It wouldn't update, and then it said I wasn't connected to the internet so it wouldn't launch at all. Uninstalling the game caused it to say "Resume download" instead of Install, and it wouldn't begin the download at all. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the GP app with no luck. I restarted my computer and it became a download button, but it still said I wasn't connected to the internet. This morning it just... worked, for some reason. Probably spent 30 minutes troubleshooting last night and couldn't play at all. None of the answers from the Microsoft forums agents worked, but if you google "Windows Game Pass resume install issue" it seems pretty common.

Thanks for the music recs! You got me deep into Mannequin Pussy and I'm really vibing with Origami Angel right now too.

Also, the record label for Origami Angle is PWYW and there is a lot of amazing stuff on there in the same vein. Lots of emo, punk, and ska. Nervous Dater is a highlight, and Insignificant Other also whips ass.

Wow, I'd love tpo see this "good guy" image that Jeff sees. Like when was that happening?

Was it when XBox One was going to be online only and playesr woudl not even have teh sliver of ownership they currently grasp? Or, maybe ist visable through the vast Microsoft Graveyard of killed developers over the past 20 years?

Jeff literally is saying that this image started being built with Phil Spencer, who was brought in specifically because of that DRM TV hybrid nightmare and Microsoft's spotty past with IP and developer relations. He isn't saying they are the good guys, just that they're working that angle. Since Spencer took over the games division, Microsoft has been trying to play the hearts-and-minds game to win people over, with back-compat, with the way they treat their newly acquired developers, to even how Spencer speaks about the competition in interviews. They are very much trying to cultivate a good-guy image.

@voidburger: The time travel mafia murder thing is a legit plot hole, but the limbs coming off is just how time travel works in that movie. The movie is showing us by example: alter something in the past, and it affects the future immediately with no ripple effects. it sucks that the future-murder-wife thing got overlooked so hard because it is the one things that doesn't stand on its own within the story and is pretty friggin glaring. Unless I'm forgetting something though (haven't seen it in years), the way it treats its timey-wimey stuff is internally consistent otherwise.
