Alright, so I think I am pretty screwed.

Today started out okay, but that was until my friend drove his car into my garage door.

Now I don't think the damage is that bad but I'm not a garage door expert so I'm thinking their is a problem with the sensor on top. Did anyone here have this happen before and if so it exspensive to fix, cause my mother will probably rip my head off its not fixable and she has to buy a new door.

So yeah, idk.

@Laticsfan:
Well his car started smoking as he pulled into my driveway and he went to hit the brakes but his car slid and hit my door.

Aren't the sensors usually located on ground level, to detect tires crossing the door threshold? There might be an actuating sensor in the gearbox itself to stop the door from closing when it detects too much resistance but that doesn't sound like what you're talking about.

Replacing ground sensors isn't too hard but it's pricey. Replacing the gearbox/beams is, well, the price of a new garage door opener.

Sucks bro

@TheDoorman:  Lie to parents and disavow all knowledge of the door being broken?

Technically it wasn't your fault, it was your friends fault, so make him pay for it?

Dude, your friend messed up your door, not you. Pal's going to get more heat than you. Just don't lie to your parents because they'll be even more steamed at you for lying to cover his ass.

Let your friend pay for all of the repairs or whatever.  If he refuses then he's not a true bro.

Get a new friend, but wait until he pays for the damages before you show him his replacement.

Well, don't worry I'm The Batman. And to make this post relevant, I think that you are pretty much out of luck. Sucks bro.

@TheDoorman: I hate to be just another asshole providing no information when you need advice the most but................. maybe a new head might be cheaper. (and potentially less of a headache) BAZZZING!

Call a repair man and have him look at it. Might want to get an honest mechanic guy though; a standard contractor will fuck you even more :/
