They were doing so well getting the episodes uploaded on time compared to Mass Alex 1 & 2 too, what a shame.

lol, mistakes and bugs happen from time to time. I'm sure they'll have this corrected soon enough.

So during my last playthrough of this game a couple years I had (obviously older versions of) pretty much all the mods Alex has installed. I’ve noticed some bugs (like the bug where Alex got stuck by Joker), visual bugs and stuttering throughout the past few episodes. It reminds me of an issue I ran into with my last playthrough of this game I did that culminated in the game pad mod just not working anymore during the Leviathan mission. In fact, I think it may have caused the game to repeatedly crash during the same section of the leviathan mission. I bring this up because from what I recall the only way I was able to progress forward was by uninstalling the controller mod and just playing the rest of the game with mouse and keyboard. Just wanted to make y’all aware of this in case you run into the same issue.

Wanted to give a heads up for a mod related bug I ran into playing this a couple years ago on PC that I’ve been meaning to bring up since you started. I had, I think literally all the same mods you guys have installed including the game pad mod. When I was playing one of the later Leviathan missions late in the game a bug triggered that rendered the game unplayable. Again, it’s been long enough ago now that the specifics are fuzzy to me but the end result was me having to specifically uninstall the game pad mod to continue playing. Even after wrapping up the Leviathan mission I remember reinstalling the mod wasn’t an option. I also want to say that this was an issue specific to the mod. Having said that, I don’t know if this issue has since been fixed. Apologies for not having a lot of specifics but I just wanted to make you all aware of this in case you run into issues of your own.

Great series and glad to see it’s return. Something worth noting that much like ME2 this game has a point of no return that isn’t really flagged as such. Vinny, whenever you can spare the time, you should check out this link for details:

Also worth noting that many side missions are multipart missions. So once you complete part 1 of certain side missions I believe you’ll have to go do other stuff before you can move onto part 2 of that side mission.

Worth noting that KI (Killer Instinct) was also a X1 launch title and my personal favorite game that year. It’s one of the reasons I think the X1 launch lineup owned the PS4 launch lineup and still one of my favorite games to come out this gen.

Also, these are the reasons people hate Guy Fieri:

Literal political figures like Lyndon B. Johnson and Krushchev are in Metal Gear! I like Dan and I'm glad Dan is discovering this stuff (better now than never) but Dan just needs to occasionally internalize things. Sometimes it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt (Dan would appreciate that reference).

Awesome video!

So I'm in kind of a weird scenario where I technically have everything I need to do this but what I have is slightly different. So I have an extra set of joy con (specifically the Mario red Mario Odyssey joy con) and I have the plain blue Hori dpad left joy con (the blue color only being released in Japan). Even though the Hori dpad is a little mushy (like, it's opening is a little bigger than it needs to be?) it's solid and I like it. Having said that, everything else about that Hori dpad left joy con is terrible.

My issues with the Hori joy con:

  • The stick on it started drifting IMMEDIATELY (which I know is a common joy con issue but it happened right away with the Hori joy con)
  • No HD rumble
  • It can't be used detached from the Switch
  • It has problems staying attached to my Switch (which is not an issue with literally any of my other left joy con)
  • It just feels light/cheap.

So basically, my aim is to gut my Hori joy con of everything except its blue shell and dpad and insert literally everything else from my left Mario Odyssey joy con. My question is: will the tutorials online for putting together these joy con kits work for me? Basically, has anyone else tried what I'm planning to do?

EDIT: So my answer is no or at least not without major dremel work :/

EDIT EDIT: For anyone who wants a good dpad to use when your Switch is docked the Pokken controller is fantastic! It's a wired controller but it has a fantastic dpad and while it only has one set of shoulder buttons it should serve your needs well for most retro style games. I was able to get two WiiU Pokken controllers for a total of $10 awhile back because GameStop was clearing them out.

@madlands: I agree but I also want to repeat that there's nothing wrong with rolling with the punches either. I get that many people (myself included) want Alex to have the best experience possible so he can get the most enjoyment out of the game but keep in mind that for many people that means rolling with the punches. Maybe I'm hypocritical as I was one of the individuals who pushed for saving Arrival for last largely because of how Arrival is written (and because of how ME3 kicks off) but I guess I viewed that as being far less intrusive to Alex's experience of this game than literally telling him what choices to make or telling him to redo choices he made. Yes there's some BS at play with the suicide mission so I think he could justifiably "reroll" the suicide mission if he wanted but rolling with everything as it is would be fine as well. Interesting shit will play out in ME3 as a result of whatever Alex decides. Alex should really only consider doing a poll if he's on the fence about how he wants to proceed. Otherwise he should proceed how he wants and I think we should all support him on that whichever way he goes!

@rvone:

Yeah but I don't think Alex's logic was totally unsound. Samara has hundreds of years of experience so even if she prefers to fly solo its not unreasonable to think that she could effectively lead a squad. The cutscene leading up to this choice is kind of misleading too (as others have pointed out). It makes you not trust putting Miranda in charge who is a totally valid choice (if memory serves me correctly).
