I've always lacked the confidence to post anything on this site, and I can't for life of me understand why. This community is fantastic. It's filled with all kinds of hilarious, kind and intelligent people, and it's easy see why. You guys are all those things, and more, and people gathered around you. To me, Ryan might as well have been King Hilarious, Kind Hearted, Intelligent.
Whilst I've only been following Giant Bomb for two or so years, the Bombcast has become a companion to my Wednesday morning commute. Whilst I've never met you guys and likely never will, your warm, funny and joyful chemistry always uplifted me and made feel a sense of belonging in the video game community. Although I never met the man, the myth, the legend that is Ryan Davis, I considered him a friend and I feel something special is gone from my life. More accurately, something special has disappeared from this world, and it feels all the more gloomier without it.
My sense of loss can only be minute, when compared with those who knew him personally. I can only offer you my deepest condolences in what must be an extremely difficult time, but Ryan's legacy, his hilarity and his kindness cannot and will not be forgotten.
Rest in Peace Ryan! I'll miss you.
